I bought a 10 sheet for $40. Husband says it is too small and cheesy. Is this true? Any recommendations?

TIA.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Any brands that don't require oiling?

Thanks ladies, you've convinced me to keep the small cheesy one.

Mine's about that size, maybe a little smaller. It fits my needs though I wish the basket was a little bigger.

On a side note, I realized I was shredding papers on election day. With the Oval Office model. Made me giggle a little.

My shredder is at least 10 yrs old and shreds about 5 pieces at a time.

I've had no issue. I keep a laundry basket in my office for things to shred and I shred about on e every 2 weeks.

My little shredder works great for me and our business. I would never take my items to a second location for shredding.

I raise and rescue guinea pigs and need shredded paper to mix with bedding. I actually raid the recycling bins around the business in my area for paper. I have a 7 sheet 50 buck one from Target. It works fine, I use it all day. I oil it weekly and dont let it over heat, or try to put card stock in it. Lasted a year, most of mine last about 4 or 5 months before I burn the motors out.

I have small paper shredder like that, but since I am just shredding household bills and such it is all I need. I have had it for a few years now and it does the trick. I don't need an industrial shredder!

Well he is a MAN right?
They like he-man sized things.
LOL!

No really, for me, that would be fine.
But we actually have an industrial heavy duty sized one, that we got from Costco. You can shove a lot of papers in it/thick ones too.

Tell your Husband he can get his own bigger one.
For you, that is for you that you can use.
10 sheets at a time, is more than a junk mail envelope.

Depends on how much use it would get. I think that would work fine for a home but if you shred everything in sight and work out of your home it could be insufficient. It would work for my life because I would only shred about 10 sheets a month...

Once you catch up the backlogged stuff, it will be fine. :)

If you don't shred often, you should be fine. My father in law got this massive, powerful shredder. It's bigger then a trash can! Personally, I think that is cheesy!!

The paper shredder I have been using for several years is an Infoguard that does 7-sheets, crosscut. It also has a slot for credit cards and such. I only paid $30-35 for it on sale.

I've never oiled it, but now that I'm looking stuff up, apparently ALL shredders should be oiled. Oops. Seems simple enough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yrXvtG5lSA
