What she needs is a barracuda of a lawyer. A book isn't what she needs. A book isn't going to protect her interests. She will lose everything if she depends on a book.

Oh my she needs a lot more than a book!
Maybe you could help her out by asking around for good attorney recommendations, that's honestly what she needs more than anything right now. Getting a list of names and phone numbers would help ease her burden.
Offer to watch her kids while she meets with lawyers and looks for a job (if she doesn't have one.)
Bring her food and wine and let her cry on your shoulder.
Hopefully she will soon realize it's not worth fighting for a man who doesn't want to be with her anymore :-(

Personally, she needs an attorney ASAP not a book. She needs to protect herself and the kids.

That's nice of you to try to help your friend but she probably needs more help than a book.

However, you can search "divorce books" in amazon and a lot will come up. You can read the reviews and they give you an idea of what they are about.

Lots of us have been through it and have come out for the better. Just be there so she can vent. I felt like no one understood. Good luck.

I would need a lot more information to recommend books for her.

I wish I did have a book for her. If I am allowed to say this: he sounds like a real loser. What a shame. She is going to find out she is much better off in the long run without him.

every divorce is different. who knows which one not only has advice pertaining to your friend's situation, but would appeal to her.
even people close to me can rarely recommend books for me. many of us are very odd and individual in our reading tastes.
what i'd recommend for her is a) a dynamite lawyer and b) a support group.
