Body Shapers

Any advice on a good "body shaper" to purchase? Step 1 of my new year's resolution to loose "the baby weight" is to cheat and wear one of those body shapers until I can fit back into my skinny clothes. I don't want to wear a girdle that pulls up over the legs. I need something for the back flab, hips and tummy area. Has anyone tried the "Kymaro?"

Thanks,
K.

What can I do next?

I too, am cheating on the baby weight by wearing a body shaper (I'm wearing it right now and loving it!) Its a flexee (?) I think, from Stein Mart and cost $30. Its doing a good job on my tummy and muffin top (hate that term :( ) area.

Its good because these rolls and lumps dont show under shirts so my knit shirts and sweaters look better. I would say it makes me look about 5 pounds smaller.

It has an underwire bra and some clasps in the back so it is adjustable and comes in different cup sizes, so I think it does a decent job of not squashing me on top. Its not perfect, but for $30 and something that is supposed to be "temporary" its a good solution.

However, I am normally a size 4 but with baby weight am in a size 6 or 8. I think this is a good solution for someone my size or a little larger, but cant say how it would work for someone looking to hide 15 or 20 pounds.

I've tried on several different brands of body shapers and none of them worked for me. I'm only a size 14 and the x-large was the only one that would go on over my shoulders. I am a DD size bust and they all flattened my bust line as well as scrunched up my rolls so that they appeared flattened out in different places. Not flattering.

Control panties do flatten my tummy but they give me a definite muffin top. I haven't tried the high waisted control panty.

After reading Leslie's response: I weigh 30 lbs. over my usual weight, the weight I maintained most of my life which was another 20 lbs over being slim. I think that is why the body shapers don't work for me. Too much fat to smooth out. lol

I like the Asset tanks from Target (cheaper Spanx) I'm pretty short so tucking in the tank works on tummy area as well. and they're not "cut off your breath" tight....just smoothing.

I've had good luck with the Target-brand version of Spanx. I think it's called "Assets" (awful name).

Not sure of the specific brands other than Spanx which I personally think are a little pricey. Try looking at Ross, TJ Max, Marshalls etc... to find some for less. I would wear an outfit similar to what you would wear it with and head out to try on a few. There are several different colors, sizes, styles etc..
Like mid-drift /tummy shaper, hip/thigh, full bra/tummy/panty combo etc.. Good Luck!

Ive tried the cheap stuff, it pushes all the fat elsewhere and looks hideous, the only one ive liked so far was spanx

I've heard Spanx is worth the money! My mom just got one, I'll ask her how she likes it!

A personal trainer is about $60 an hour. If you can spend $40 and get a nice shape, it's worth it!
