Take him to the dr's. There is a foot/mouth also. If it is it's viral and only comfort care can be done. No daycare or be around other kids due to the spreading factor. Be sure to read labels on floor care products some are not recommended to use with pets. If it can't be used with pets don't use with toddlers either. Pets lick themselves to bathe and kids put everything including fingers and toes in their mouths. Dogs have been known to go into kidney failure and die from floor cleaning products.

I can't give you much help except to say he is possibly allergic to something. I am 54 years old and do the same thing. I have been to a dermatologist and my family doctor and I also work in an emergency room and the only thing I have been told is: I must be allergic to something I touch. It doesn't happen everyday but at least once a week, one pops up. He may be fussy because mine itch like crazy. I wash my hands repeatedly and also use alcohol foam. My suggestion to you is to pay close attention to what he plays with, eats, or is around daily. Make a daily chart and see if anything repeatedly comes up when he has a blister appear so you can have something to take to the doctor to prove your theory. I wish you good luck and please get back to me if you find anything else out. So far, I haven't.

Definately sound like HFM to me. I have been working with children for 10 years in a group setting and have seen it several times - just like with anything else - each case looks different on each person; yet with the same basic "stuff". There isn't anything you can do, but do keep him from others until he seems better. He may never run a fever but that doesn't mean he isn't contagious! He'll be alright soon - the tylenol was good for comfort - but don't send him to a daycare situation if you have to use it. I just HAD to say that!! :) God bless you!

E., My son also had HF&M but only had the blisters on his throat. Just try to keep him as comfortable as possible w/ Tylenol and fluids.

My daughter had hand, foot and mouth and did not have the blisters. She did run a low fever a few days before. The doctor can't do anything for your child but tylenol to keep him comfortable.

If he had a fever within a few days of getting the blisters, it could be hand, foot, mouth disease. My son had very few blisters anywhere but his hands.

We had something similar. She had them on her hands and the tops od her feet. Someone else mentioned to us that it mught be our hard wood floor cleaner. We used Murphy's and very watered down with a dry mop so I was doubtful but I washed my floors twice with water and sure enough they went away before we even made it to the doctors. She was crawling on the floor and the floor cleaner was just to harsh for her sensitive skin. Her knees didn't break out because the skin on the knees are less sensitive then other areas, especially for a crawler. It also might be a cleaner in your situation. I know this isn't realy advice but I hope it helps
