Blessingway Ceremony?

Has anyone ever been a part of a Blessing Way ceremony? It's a celebration in honor of a pregnant mom. It's a pretty cool idea and lots of people have put a Christian emphasis on it (originally a Navajo tradition). I found lots on online resources but I would really like some personal feedback and ideas (esp. of those who attended a Christian version) but anything will help.

Thanks,
J.

I've heard they can be great.. I was going to have one but it didn't work out. I have the book that has all the ideas in it. I did hear from a friend of mine that it has been with a Christian emphasis quite successfully... it's a nice celebration for good friends and the emphasis is on mom and sharing ideas for moms. Hope it goes well. PM me and I can get you some more information about a forum with others that have had them.

I have not participated in this, but I know many that do practice many different religions.

My best advice to you would be to take what resonates the most in your heart (I assume this is something for you, but I may be wrong.). Make it personal to your taste and your own interest.

Have your family and friends with you and it will be special.

Good luck!

hi there. i attended a mommy blessing shower. it was for a friend who was expecting her 2nd child. Any gifts that were brought were to encourage the mommy(like foot lotion, luna bars or other thoughtful things). also the host had everyone bring an index card with a picture of their own children or family on one side and some good advice on the other. She made a little booklet out of them and gifted it to the mommy. The host also had us all share a little something special about what this mommy meant to us. It turned into a real awesome and emotional thing. I was surprised at how blessed I felt to be there. It was wonderful and truly encouraging for the mommy to be. Good luck to you.
