Please don't wait. A friend of mine waited and ended up miscarrying. I don't want to scare you, but it's better to be too cautious than to end up saying "If only I had gone sooner."
I started lightly spotting thursday afternoon, Oct 22, and today, Oct 25, my spotting is slightly heavier. It's still light but heavy enough for a lite tampon. It's also more red than brown today and I don't know when I should call the doctor. This is my second pregnancy and I'm 7 weeks along. I didn't have any bleeding with my first so it's a new one on me. I've read that spotting is normal and that I should call the doc when bleeding is bright red or if it's more than spotting but I've also had cramping off and on. Not sharp cramping or painful cramping but 'blunt' I guess. I noticed my bleeding was slightly heavier (but not heavy) and changed color after a cramping episode. Any advice?? I'm kind of freaked out and my hubby told me to wait another couple of days or if it gets any heavier. Please help me... Thanks!
I went to the doc today and he said everything seemed fine, probably just intermittent bleeding but if it gets worse or I have sever cramping then to go back to the ER. Thanks everyone!
Just an update: I went back to the ER tuesday afternoon and the doc said he couldn't find a heartbeat. I lost the baby but I'm ok now, my husband and I have talked about the next step and we are happy with our decision. Thanks again.

This is a non issue for me, GO TO THE DOC!!!!
I have been through 5 pregnancies and all of them different, and I have been through a miscarriage and I would not wish that on anyone, so don't take a chance. GO TODAY!
Hello,
I don't want to upset you but you are most likely having a miscarriage. I think this because I've had two before. I am not a doctor though. You should go to see the doctor, however, it may be a pregnancy where the embryo never developed and you can pass it without a DNC. You will need some motrin though. Sometimes even with the embryo you can pass it without a DNC but you need to see a doctor after to be sure everything has passed or you can end up with an infection. I have had both kinds of miscarriage and not needed a DNC in either case. Of course if going in for the procedure doesn't bother you, that can be done before going through all the pain and maybe be safer.
Hope that helped,
J.
I read some of the responses and I know they sound scary. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I had the same thing. The doctor told me over the phone that it was probably a miscarriage and there was nothing that could be done. he told me to come in after a few days if it gets worse. It eventually ended and I had a completely healthy baby girl who is now 3. You can never tell with these things. See a doctor if it makes you feel better or wait it out a few days. If it is a miscarriage, there is nothing that can be done but checking never hurts. It could just be spotting (i had some red blood too) Good luck
Call the doctor -- if nothing else, for your peace of mind. Why wait? All it takes is a phone call ...

absolutely GO to the doctor. Normal or not, they would still want to see you.
Here is a good website for you. I'm glad you went to the doctor, that is what I wanted to suggest to you.

You should go to the doctor without hesitation.
