Bleeding After Birth...

I gave birth 2 months ago and bleed for a few weeks after. Then it stopped... but now the bleeding starts again randomly. It's not heavy that it's soaking though a pad in an hour, but I'm just not sure this is normal. I had my 6 week appointment and the dr said everything was fine. I am also on the mini-pill, and exclusively breastfeeding. I know everyone is different, but has anyone gone through this?

What can I do next?

Some breastfeeding moms have what's called a six week bleed. It's like a period though you aren't ovulating. It can happen anytime around 6 weeks. I had it around 7 weeks with my first but not with my second.

hum, I didn't have any bleeding after the first few weeks? That seems strange to me.

I would say the mini pill is probably to blame. Your hormones are all out of sorts. I didn't start my period until a year after I had my daughter, I was breastfeeding. So I didn't take any BC either... you mught want to try getting off the pill and waiting until your hormones are more stabilized/

If you are lifting too much the bleeding comes right back. Do not carry that car seat. Carry your baby in your arms as much as you can for movement purposes and to lesson weight. Let someone else carry groceries and other things you need to tote. Make sure your baby gets on tummy 4 times a day for 30 minutes each time. Keep out of seats, contraptions etc. that delay development. Don't worry the bleeding will eventually stop.

It's definitely the darn mini-pill. Your doc probably said "take it at the EXACT same time every day" and she wasn't kidding. I took it about an hour off one night and I thought I had gotten my first period 2 months after I gave birth. Turns out it was the pill. I heard that it makes your uterus have a really thick lining so an egg cannot implant, but then if you take it late the uterus just sheds everything. This happened to me twice in about 3 weeks and I said forget it! I waited to go on the pill until after I was done breastfeeding.

I believe the mini-pill can cause bleeding mid-cycle.
