I have one but not made from mesh. It's made from cadaver.i know, eww but it's ok. They dont have the problems the mesh has. It's kind of a personal thing but I am mostly happy with it. PM me if you want more info.

I would push for things like physical therapy and exercises first before trying surgery. There are actually some lawsuits against those bladder slings. I have heard nothing but horror stories about them.
If your doctor isn't willing to try anything other than surgery I would recommend getting another opinion.
Kegals aren't the only thing that need to be done, I know everyone will go on and on about them. Too many Kegals or too many done wrong can actually make things worse.
Strengthening all the muscles, doing things like squats. They can work.

Please make sure the sling you're considering does not contain mesh. My mom has permanent damage from mesh. She is having her second reconstructive surgery (first one was to remove mesh) in two weeks to reconstruct her vaginal wall. She has been in constant pain and suffers many side effects from her mesh bladder sling. I'm not trying to scare you but just asking you to please talk to you dr about the implant they use. Best of luck to you!

I had one done with my hysterectomy a year ago. I am happy with the results. It wasn't the mesh one either. You might seek a second opinion from a good urologist. They are more qualified to tell you what the best options are. I used one who had been practicing for about 10 years. He was very good and up to date on new research and options.

The procedure itself is quick and the recovery time was quick. I had it done on a Friday and was in his office post op the following Friday. I was also recovering from my hys. I think if it had only been this procedure it would have been about the same as when I had my tubes tied.

PM me if you'd like more info. I would do it again given my same circumstances.

Blessings!
L.
