Hi A.,
No biting back is not a good idea. You just telling him no biting then you bite him?
I went through a long battle with my daughter and her biting. She almost got thrwon out of daycare for it.
What we did the minute he bit anyone is we made sure ther person was ok. WE made over them like they were the most important person in the world. We then got the little and told them that was not nice and they had to sit in the corner for 1 minute. Then we went right back to making over the person that got the bite. Totally not paying any attention to the one the did the biting.
Right now your child wants to communicate his feelings, but can't seem to work them into words yet. This is the main reason he is doing this.
This method we used took awhile, but did finally work.
Believe when I say I understand how upsetting it can be when your child bits.
There just seems to be little tolorance for this from anyone. Nanny 911 book might also give you a couple of ideas on how to handle this. I got her book and I use it for a many ideas.
