I'm kind of laughing because I spent my birthday at unemployment and then the kicker, getting an eyebrow/lip wax.

Inlaws have DD for the day.

So this is how I'm spending my birthday, on mamapedia, enjoying the house to myself. And I'm totally fine with that. This weekend I will go out with DH for dinner and a movie.

The little things. For sure.

So how has your birthday changed since the arrival of lil' ones.

What can I do next?

My birthday really hasn't been much of a thing since I was in college and would go out and get free drinks from friends!!!! Once we had kids - and they were old enough to talk , etc - it's gotten more special because now there are two little sweeties wishing me happy bday!

Birthdays are a bigger deal since having children for me because the kids get so excited about my birthday. We celebrate birthdays for a week in our home. My birthday is in the summer, and I'm a teacher, so I'm home with my boys during my birth week celebration. They find ways all week to make my birth week special. I never felt so pampered when I was childless. I love it! :)

I only celebrate it for a day vs all week!

My favorite thing to do on my birthday is to have a 'family date' with my two daughters and my husband. They are my favorite people in the world, and having a nice dinner at a restaurant is the perfect birthday present! My girls always make me cards & pictures, and surprise me in the morning with them. Before, my birthdays were about 'me, me, me', but now, I have my own little family to celebrate with!

And a hot bath with some alone time reading my kindle is just icing on the cake. :)

Last year, my husband was deployed on my birthday. So I went to my parents' house and my Dad and Brother watched my kids while my Mom and I went for a pedicure. My Mom made me cupcakes and we played Guitar Hero.

My husband doesn't really do well with my birthdays, so as sad as he was to miss it, it wasn't so bad for me. When hubby is home, a birthday is often just another day. I refuse to cook dinner, so we often get take-out. (Taking our three kids to a restaurant is just more work than it's worth.) That doesn't mean I am not up at my regular time taking care of the kids and preparing their food. So.... yeah. My birthdays haven't been great since becoming a Mom. I think that's one reason why I put so much into making their birthdays spectacular!

We just include the baby in our plans! This friday is my honey's birthday and we will be going out to dinner and when we get home, cake and presents. Once that baby goes to bed, then I can give my husband his "special" present!

I gave birth to my daughter on sep 10. My birthday is sep 11. So about five years ago I spent my birthday in the hospital after having an emergency C-section and since her birthday falls so close to mine, the event is usually all about her. I haven't really celebrated my birthday since she was born. (1 day apart... seriously! Happy birthday to me right?) But it really isn't that big of a deal because prior to that the terrorist attack on 9-11 sort of screwed up my day well before I was ever pregnant. ;) I've been pretty laid back about birthdays after I turned 21. All the fun milestone birthdays are over-with and only the scary ones are left!

Well, my little ones are now mid size ones...but we always have and always will, get together for family bdays. It has become a little trickier since I'm remarried and in a blended family. Since our ex's have our kids on the same every other weekend and holiday schedule, we don't always have the kids on their actualy bdays or on the actual holiday. So we tend to celebrate on whatever day/weekend we have the kids. I come from a very small family and since day one, when my grandparents and uncle were still alive, we got together for every bday and holiday and I will do the same with our kids and hope they continue when they older with their own families. =)

My first was born 9 days before my b-day and I got baby clothes for that birthday-should have looked at is as a trend! No but really I refuse gifts and instead plan/ or have planned, an activity that we all can enjoy. Its all about making memories
