Books!!!!!! They can never have too many of them as they find their favorites and ask to be read over and over and over again! Also suggest the LeapFrog FridgePhonics.

Rescue Heros! They are large enough to be manipulated by a 2 y/o, very positive role model and come in a variety of types of people. They are put out by Fisher Price and many come with a video or DVD. You can find them at Target, Big Lots, WalMart.... just about anywhere.
Here is more info on them:

My 8 1/2 year old is just now growing out of them, but the little one, who just turned 3 loves them!

Hi S.,
I have lots of good ideas.... You'll find alot of fun and unique products at www.drmy.net/southlake
I am an independent consultant for Do-Re-Me&You and became one because I thought their products were so great.
One of my favorites that I got for my nephew is called
"head, shoulders, knees and toes" and there is a great new product called "the alpha building crew" Both would be great for a 2 year old boy!
Let me know what you think & if you order something.
Hi, S.! I'm a stay at home mom of an almost two year old and a three and a half year old (both boys) in North Irving! I have a home based business that I know will answer your birthday question! Feel free to check out my website at www.drmy.net/vkelly to see toy kits that include a hardcover book, cd and musical instrument or toy all in one set! These kits cover newborns up to 12 year olds! Do-Re-Me&You! is a new company created by Kindermusik to put the benefits of learning with music into the homes of as many children as possible.
Magna-doodle: it has a pen attached to a magnetic board. They can draw pictures and then erase and draw again. Our 2 year old loves it. They come in lots of sizes and are available at Target, Walmart, etc.
Hi S.
I have 2 nephews who loved Hotwheels at that age. Any kind of truck, car or train made their day.

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. My son received a bicycle seat that attaches to the back of our bike. This was around $40.00. He is four now and JUST outgrew it! This year he got a bike trailer and loves it. You may consider this if his parents ride bikes.
My little boy just turned two and he received a "mini-potato" head set with other veggies...corn, carrots...he LOVES it and plays with it all the time.
The IKEA store has a tunnel and tent that are very fun, well-made and inexpensive. Opens to the public Wednesday.
I got a lawn mower that blows bubbles from Target for a 2-yr old boy.
My daughter also loves puzzles and sing-song books. (See TJ Maxx for bargains).
