S.R.
We went to Benihana a couple of weeks ago, and all loved it. Kids ages 9, 7 and 3 plus me, my husband and my mom. Food was great; chef was entertaining. We were at the one just South of 635, just West of Coit.
Happy Birthday!
Hello Mama's,
I turned 49 today and my dear husband and eight year old son wants to take me out to dinner to celebrate. Does anyone have a favorite place to go that is fun for not only adults but for kiddo's? We live in the North Garland area but will go anywhere in the Dallas metroplexto have some fun. Thank you so much.
Thank you all so very much! We finally decided on Benihanna's and we had a great time. After I wrote on here, I received an e-mail stating that I had a free meal for my birthday to Benihanna's!!! I had forgot that I signed up for that :). You Mamma's are always so much help. Thank You.

Kyoto's is over there off of 66 and Lake Ray Hubbard - it's like a Benihana's and they have great food as well as a good view of the lake!
There is a wonderful Jungle themed Restaurant in Grapevine Mall that is a lot of fun and perfect for children.
And you can purchase a birthday outfit at www.rufflesandcream.com
Magic Time Machine in Addison is fun for both adults and children.
Joe's Crab Shack (it's too noisy for me; but, the rest of my family loves it)
Friday's can be fun
Chuy's in Plano
Cheescake Factory in Allen (if you go there, ask for Trey for your server -- he's fantastic)
Medieval Times
My children are grown so I'm a little out of the loop for what's appropriate for an 8 year old. I will say the Melting Pot is wonderful; but, I'm not so sure for kiddos.

If you have a Melting Pot near you I would recommend that. It is a bit pricey...but man is it fun! and good!
Happy Birthday!
Don't forget to make a wish!
maybe texas de brazil or fogo de chao?
I know you already got some answers and went somewhere, but I thought I would respond anyway!
Taste of Home
There is a little family owned restaurant in Wylie on the main street (Ballard, just off of Highway 78) that looks and feels elegant yet casual. It's a tiny bit pricey, but not too bad, really. They don't sing happy birthday or anything, but it is a very pleasant place to go! They also serve a very nice breakfast on the weekends. It's called Taste of Home, but doesn't have anything to do with the food magazine of that name.
Glad you enjoyed going out!
One of my favorite places to go is The Melting Pot. It's sort of expensive but it's a really neat experience and it would give your son a chance to act like an adult. Being a Monday night, it wouldn't be that busy. Happy Birthday!
