How old is your son?
Which one's does he like?
The metal ones are sturdier... tougher. Its, metal.
Kids play with it, with no gentleness.
The metal ones, can take it.
My son went through that last year. He's 6.
He would know which ones he likes and which ones are rare etc.
He has a ton of them.
He has the plastic ones too, but the metal ones spin better. Its heavier and has a better center of gravity. Its just physics.
The Beyblade, should come with a rip-cord type "launcher."
There are fancier launchers, but its not necessary or mandatory that you get those.
You cannot play/spin a Beyblade, without the rip-cord.
It is like a top. You need the rip-cord to initialize the spinning of it.
Many places have Beyblades.
E-bay, Walmart, Target, specialty shops, etc.
And also, a "stadium" or arena, is good to have, because, its the best for playing it. It is made for the Beyblade.
Keep in mind: That, if your kid plays/spins the Beyblade on concrete... it will eat up and chew up the "tip" of the Beyblade. Ruining it.
Because concrete is a hard ROUGH textured surface. My son knew not to use his Beyblades on concrete or on rocky or rough surfaces.
It is best to play it, on a SMOOTH surface. ie: that is why the Beyblade arenas/stadiums are made of smooth hard plastic.
But my son also knew how to change out the tips, and tweak it and make up his own Beyblades using parts from others and interchanging it.
My son keeps his Beyblades, in a plastic tool-box.
Just a regular tool-box that you get from a hardware store.
Its perfect for it and easy to carry and keeps it all organized.
My son and his friends, would give each other Beyblades for gifts/Birthdays. Locally, the Walmart or Target had good deals. Some even was a 2-pack. But always get a gift receipt, in case the other child has it already and wants to exchange it.
