Best Way to Hang Child's Art on Wall

My 2 1/2 year old has recently started to really enjoy arts and crafts. I'd like to display his creations in his play area and was wondering what the best way to affix them to the wall is. I don't want to do fishing line around the perimeter or anything that involved (holes in the walls). Right now we're using masking tape. Is there anything better that won't damage the paint on the walls?

I frame my grandkids art in floating art frames. Looks really cool, I even have some in my living room. Its just as good as any art I see elsewhere and gives them such a sense of accomplishment!

They have a sticky wall putty that comes in a package. I think 3M makes them, they are removable and they don't damage the wall.
I would use those.

Okay I just looked online and they are called Poster Strips by 3M. They also have the hooks that use the sticky tape that is removable. You could buy some inexpensive picture frames and frame his artwork.

command strips make a poster stick up and are garranteed to not rip the paint off the wall. about $2.50 per 12 or 24 strips. childrens art projects are the best displays.

Another idea to hang is to use painters tape - - you could roll it and hang from the back of the picture. They also make 3m products that are meant to be able to be pulled from the wall when you are done.

Try www.ShareMyKidsArt.com - I love this website! It's free and lets you store and organize your children's art. The thing I like it about the most is it has these little buttons so that you can email or upload to your facebook wall pieces of art; this is really nice for us because we live in California and my parents live in Hawaii and my wife's parents live in NY. If one of our children create something we want to share with the grandparents, we simple press a button.

You can order stuff like framed prints and posters, etc... so if you have art you want to hang up for a long time, it works well.

The only thing is you need to scan or photograph the art, which seems like a hassle but it's actually fairly easy. Good luck!

If your walls have a high quality ( preferably glossy finish) ticky tack works wonders. Also we have done the front of the fridge thing, hung a big cork board in the kitchen and in our daughters room so we can tack things up ( our daughter is much older, she is 9) Also at one point we had several frames up that we would put projects in and rotate art out. You can't keep it all but if you buy an oversizd accordian folder and date the art work you can keep a nice cross section to look back on, or do what my sister does and take digital pictures of art her kids treasures. = ) Hope you find a happy solution.

Good Morning T., I would rather string fish line from a window frames to the corners with a small pin to hold it, then masking tape on the wall. You could get some of those little multi-colored cloths pins and hang them on the line.
You could use some of the tacky stuff, place a small ball on the pictures and put them up that way. It's not supposed to harm walls but it does seem to leave a small oily looking spot..

My Frig is covered with Art and Letters from my gr dauther Tia. I have started putting them in a folder.

God Bless and enjoy your treasures

We use Permacel tape. It is a permanent/semi-permanent tape. It looks like masking tape, but isn't. It will hold whatever you want it to until you take it down and when you take it down it won't pull the paint off or leave a residue. My girls use this in their rooms for posters and such and we use it in our basement on the concrete walls for their artwork to liven up thier area and so far the only stuff that has come down is the stuff they've taken down. Our church uses it for the sound boards, b/c it doesn't leave a residue and comes off easily. One of the newer schools in our old district only allowed the teachers use it on their walls, so they didn't ruin the new pain. And it is better than the blue gummy stuff. I don't know where to get it in town, but you can look it up on-line. We've gotten ours from Teacher's Depot in West Monroe, LA (where we moved from) we order it from there or get my mom to pick some up for us. Hope this helps some. Good luck and God Bless.

I did something like the fishing line, but used Command hooks and twine. The Command hooks are sturdy and release cleanly, leaving no holes or residue on the walls. We clip with clothes pins. I've had several compliments, and my 3 year old loves it!

Hang a collection of 4 large (11*13) picture frames and mount them on the wall. Then use tape on the glass to mount that week's masterpieces on the picture frames. You can change them out as often as you would like without worry of the paint. It also looks nice to have framed art.
