My 2 1/2 daughter is really coming along with the potty training- hooray! For now, she has been using a standalone potty chair but we'd love to transition her to the toilet. She is very small for her age (26.5 lbs) so getting up on the toilet makes her nervous, even with a stool. I'd love some recommendations for a stable seat for her to feel comfortable getting up and down from the toilet by herself. She's very independent, and has to do everything by herself! I also have a 6 yo boy, so removing the seat easily is a must. Does this miracle seat exist?
Thanks, mommas!

Thanks for the recommendation. The Safety 1st potty seat looks perfect. I just ordered one!

We got a Safety First seat with handles from a friend. Target has a number of these seat inserts with handles. To prevent it from laying on the floor, get a command strip hook and stick it on the side of your toilet to give a place to hang the seat when not in use. My DD is not a big girl and that's worked well for her.

ETA: If you want her to have somewhere to put her feet you can try http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12197579 or we just used a sturdy Little Tykes or similar stepstool (the heavy plastic ones) that we shoved in a small space next to the toilet when DD did not need it.

Glad to have helped!

We used a toilet seat insert w/handles.
Easy on, easy off. Hangs by a hook next to the toilet seat.
They have ones w/cute cartoon prints. Helps encourage the kids.
Then we added a sturdy 2 step stool to get up to the toilet to sit down.

We liked the Bjorn seat. We had one on each potty and it was quick and easy to remove and put back on. It worked so well that my parents bought one to keep at their house as well!

One Step Ahead has a toilet seat you put on your toilet after you take off the existing one .It has a smaller seat that she will use and it flips up and everyone else uses the regular size. It is about $50 but totally worth it . My twins are seven and they still use it .
