Best Place to Sell Baby Items?

Where is the best place to sell my baby clothes and gear? I have sold some at my garage sale this summer, some to Once Upon a Child as well (though they are very picky there!). Just wondering if any moms have had any luck selling on other websites or resale stores.

Let me know!

Thanks!

H.

craigslist. ebay. Do you have a local consignment sale like Snugglebugs?

Craigslist. I love it, I have used it to buy nearly all of our bigger baby items as well as many other things the last couple years. I have also sold many things. It is reall easy to post and keep track of your responses.

Just make sure you do reasonable prices. Some people put such unrealistic prices on stuff and it just sits there never selling and getting reposted over and over. Check and see what similar things are selling for on there. Equivilant to garage sale prices.
Also I put a star on either end of the title of the post to make it stand out on the listing page.
You can usually get away with posting under a couple topics too. Like baby stuff and general for sale, or toys, furniture depending on what you have. Just make sure the posts and titles are not word for word the same or they will not allow the second post.

Funky Frog in Rochester takes stuff - they have a great selection! Google them for more details...

I actually have a local consignment shop "Bun in the Oven" right around the corner from where I live, but I hate using them because they keep all the items for 3 months. That's a long time - I think. I agree with Denise - I would ebay or craigslist. Make sure to put "pick-up only" on the larger items you would not want to pay shipping for.

I have bought and sold stuff on craigslist for the last 3 or 4 years. I like it because you just list it with a photo and get what you want for it. People still barter, I do myself too, but you tend to get more money for things on there as opposed to a garage sale, and you don't even have to leave your house to take it to a resale store.
You just need to be careful about your personal safety. I always tell people they have to come to me (which is generally what most people do) to buy my things, and I usually make sure I set up a time when my hubby is home, or I have a friend come by when I know the people will be coming to pick up.
I also do not put my address or telephone number in the actual ad. I wait until people have emailed me with a definite interest before giving out my address (I just give out the major cross streets until they want to set up an actual pick up time).

I got the MOST money from a garage sale. I limited the hours from 7-12 at the most. I used boxes to attach signs listing the big items and I put them at major intersections. I had a line at 7 am. I was SO GLAD I offered a couple of friends first pick to come help me and I paid them $10 an hour to make sure they showed up on time.
I got much less using a consignment store. I am friends with two owners and frankly the stuff they get in is NEVER as nice as mine. I despise using the newspapers because the ad runs after the sale and my phone is tied up.
Also, people want me to hold things and I don't like meeting people at my house.
If you have a truck, you could sit in a Walmart parking lot with items labeled
with prices visible to drivers. I have seen people sell things almost instantly.

I have bought clothes on Craigslist and locally on ebay. Selling tip - put yourself in the mind of the buyer. I buy usually in bulk by size. What I look for is a picture of several items laid out on a bed with matching outfits laid together, well organized so I can see everything is clean and in good repair. I am mentally calculating 4 outfits, 3 pair of pants, 2 sweathshirts - ok that would be about $$ in a store. I have to drive 20 minutes to pick it up - is it worth the asking price. Present it like that and it should be worth your time. I've also traded that way - so check to see if anyone has something you would trade for.
