hey moms, quick question - if you're having stomach issues which is the best pain killer to take (for other things). i thought that tylenol was the one that hurt your stomach, but i just recently read an answer on here talking about how ibuprofen is hard on the stomach - i thought that was like the liver or something. i am sure none are easy on an empty stomach, but if you have stomach issues (ulcers, for example) is there one that is better than others? thanks!

What can I do next?

Ibuprofen is the one that is tough on the stomach and acetaminophen is the one that builds up cumulatively in your liver. Take Ibuprofen on a full stomach to combat is ulcerating tendencies and alternate with acetaminophen (Tylenol) to cut down on the cumulative effects of that.

Also, keep in mind what kind of pain it is. Ibuprofen will help reduce inflammation, so if it is something like a twisted ankle, that would be the recommendation.

Feel better.

My daughter just got diagnosed with ulcers. She can NOT take anything for pain except for Tylenol. Advil, Motrin etc. actually make it worse.

Tylenol is generally easier on the stomach, though too much is toxic to the liver. Ibuprophen is often irritating to the stomach, and can cause internal bleeding, but it is easier on the liver.
