So glad I'm not alone is loving the new Star Wars movie! I don't know how I would feel if I wasn't a Star Wars fan, but if you are, it's really good!!!
I rarely make time for movies, but when I do, I like to make sure it's worth my time. What the best movie you've seen lately, either in the theater, DVD rental, or any other streaming service?

My kids dragged me to see "The Martian" and to my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
If you have not seen Benny and Joon (an old movie with a very young Johnny Depp), I suggest it. It's in my top 5. Never fails to impress, and it's just a wonderful story.
My dd thinks I'm crazy but every time My Cousin Vinny comes on tv, I drop everything and can't help but watch. Yeah, I've seen it a dozen times but it makes me laugh every time.
my girls and i watched the everest. we all cried. so good.
Saw Deadpool at the IMAX last week, and loved it.
well, being a star wars junkie, i was over the moon when the franchise returned to their roots and made the latest greatest fan-pleaser.
the last one i saw at the theater before that was crimson peak. omg. loved every frame.
i finally got around to watching mad max from netflix yesterday, and was rather surprised that i liked it. the new one with charlize theron, not the classic.
but my tastes won't be yours. i can rarely find things i like based on what others like. in film and in books, i'm an oddball.

The last one we saw in the theater was Spotlight. Absolutely outstanding. We lived through the real events up here in the Boston area, but there are amazing performances and it's a compelling story. Be sure to say for the very last part after the credits start.
I agree with Missy about Birdman. do you detect a Michael Keaton theme going on here? It's weird but fabulous.
We also loved the Helen Mirren/Ryan Reynolds movie, Woman in Gold.
I love the Jane Austen movies on Netflix or DVD - Emma, Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility. I could watch them over and over.
I just heard from a friend that she had never seen Singin' in the Rain! I was astounded. So she and her husband are coming over this weekend for popcorn and the DVD. I used to show scenes from that to my middle school music students to teach them about enunciation - in a fun way - and it tells them that movies weren't always digital! So they love the scenes with the Jean Hagen character learning to deal with a microphone and the female diction coach, and the Gene Kelly/Donald O'Connor scene with the male diction coach. So don't be afraid to go back to the super classics. My son bought every Oscar Winner movie since 1940 - and he's in his 20s. He felt he really needed to see them all.
Just watched Birdman over the weekend-so good. Before that, I was really impressed with Where the Wild Things Are, which I caught on the DVR.
'The Martian' with Matt Damon. I probably would have not watched this movie, but my daughter and I were on a cruise full of our company teams (paid for by the company - yea) and the movie shown that week was The Martian. The reason I probably would have not watched if I was home is because I love what I do helping teammates reach their financial goals. So I don't pay too much attention to TV except for the good old western shows and movies and news about products that are harmful to consumers. Now I am waiting for it to come on cable, so hubby can see it.
star wars. and we own Enders game so we watched that one again too. (i am nearly done with reading the ender series)and tonight we are watching the good dinosaur with the kids (purchased at the store)
We redbox a lot of movies. Recently, we watched The Intern (with Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway) and The Martian (with Matt Damon). We really liked them both!!!
From last year at the movies and then On Demand...American Sniper. Loved it every time I saw it.
I watch a lot of movies. The last ones I've liked (in no order) Bridge of Spies, St Vincent, Whiplash, The Martian, Fury, Wish I was Here, Father of Invention, The Million Dollar Arm, This is Where I Leave You, Kingsman, Trainwreck, The Imitation Game
