I am looking for a really good, not too expensive, mop. I do daycare so Im looking for something that works really well. Maybe mops dont last that long but I feel like I have to get a new on every few months.

What can I do next?

LOL! I don't have any recommendations for you.. just a little observation that has me chuckling in my seat. Just going by your last two posts, I won't be surprised if you go into labor today or tommorrow morning! It sounds like you're doing some serious pre-delivery "nesting."

I had to laugh because I saw your other post about hand sanitizer and you reminded me of myself before I went into labor with my first. I woke up at 2 in the morning the day I went into labor with this incredible urge to reorganize our kitchen, and to mop and sanitize everything with a hard-smooth surface.

My husband wandered into the kitchen, dazed, shocked, and perplexed as I pulled, grouped pantry foods by type, then alphabetized (no joke) all the canned goods, labeled shelves, and proceded to start making several meals to freeze for when the baby came.

By noon that day, I decided to go shopping to get a few last minute things for the baby, and while in line to pay for the stuff, my water broke. The teen boy cashier was totally at a loss as to what was going on. I think he thought I had peed on myself. Luckily there were two women in line ahead of me who had a clue and began directing him to get a mop and helped me to sit down.

I only lived a few blocks from the store, so I drove myself home where I met my husband and off to the hospital we went. Our son was born two weeks early, and 16 hours later with all 5 fingers and toes.

My husband loves to tell that story whenever he can. This time I got to. I hope you enjoyed it. And good luck on your delivery! You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep me posted. I'd be curious to know if I was right! :)

Dear B.,

Unfortunately, today's mops are meant for disposal and or ease of use. The mop that I would suggest believe it or not is a cloth mop that would see a janitor use. The drawback to this is that you would need to wash the mop head every so often and have a spare mop head. Also dumping the water out of the bucket everyday after mopping. Now a better option that I have found if you don't mind spending the money; I've found that using the swifter mop works excellent if used with basic h and basic g from shaklee. We don't sell shaklee but brian does and is a very nice guy. If you're interested, let us know and I'll get you the number. It cleans better, costs less without chemicals.

I am also a Swiffer Wet Jet user. I love it! It just seems more sanitary when I use it to clean the bathroom floors and the kitchen. I don't feel like I am spreading anything. It really isn't that expensive. I would definitely recommend it!

Mops get so dirty and yucky that I switched to the Swiffer Wet Jet and you change the pad each time you mop. It may cost more but it's light weight, doesn't take up much space and you use a clean pad each time.
