Belly Belt Recommendations

I am not yet 6 months pregnant but when I walk in the mornings, it feels like I need some kind of support for my belly. Has anyone had any experience with belly belts? Is one better than another?

What can I do next?

I tried a number of these with my 2nd, as I was having a lot of pelvic pain from about 5 months onward. I tried the one from Motherhood, but found that the very best for me was called Mom-Ez. You can buy them at You & Me Babe or on eBay (what I did, as Y&MB didn't have my size when I needed it.)

Good luck and congrats!!

No experience with belts. I wore a supportive, girdle-like pair of underwear. They were lacey, but not highly attractive. The good thing about them was an adjustable support built into the front panel that took pressure off my back and supported my belly. I'm sorry, I don't remember where I got them. Check nicer maternity shops.

I had the same problem when I went for walks, all that weight pulling me forward! I got the belly belt at Babies R Us and loved it. It was washable, comfortable, adjustable and easy to wear. It really does make a difference. Good Luck.

I have used a couple different kinds, gifts and stuff but I found all of them that I used very helpful. I was haveing bad ciatic back pain I would just make sure that they are not to small. You need a little room to grow and you don't want to squash you baby. Sorry not much help but I am sure any belt will help. Good luck

The Nesting Place has one called Gabriella available in medium or extra support with dual adjustments to allow for baby growth. It is $30-$45 depending on which one you get. It has a wide backband for support and a narrower one under the belly for support there as well.

Hi L.,

I also had that problem with both of my pregnancies as well. I purchased a support belt from an online store about 5 years ago. I loved it because I could adjust it so it would be comfortable. The only problem was that if I would wear the belt all day, from 7am until 7pm, the baby would get antsy & move around more than usual. But other than that, I loved it. I saw the same belt at Babies R Us after I purchased mine. Hope this helps.

I got one from Babies R Us. I couldn't have lived through the last half of my first pregnancy without it! It cost about $30-$40 and had two parts that velcro together. THere was a wide back support part and a narrow part that fit under the belly. I think the Motherhood one is a narrow band all the way around. I borrowed a friend's Motherhood belt to see if it would work and it did nothing for me. The one at Babies R Us definitely offered more support. Also, maternity tights or support hose are nice, but probably not practical for exercise.

I experience the exact same feelings. The belt at Babies R Us is worth it's weight in gold to alleviate some discomfort.
