Baylor Frisco Vs. Plano Presby

My ob/gyn will deliver at either Baylor Frisco or Plano Presby. I have only ever been to Medical Center of Plano and wanted to get opinions from others about both of these hospitals. I know Plano Presby is a good hospital but my doctor said that Baylor Frisco is comparable to staying at the Ritz. Any opinions?

What can I do next?

H.,
I had my son at Presby Plano nearly 3 years ago and will have my baby in July there as well. About the time that we were there they were doing lots of building on to the hospital, specifically the post partum area. We were not there when the new rooms were done, but we did go back shortly afterward to visit a friend who delivered and I have to say it was so nice. Even the older rooms were better than most I have been in and I have worked in many of the hospitals in this area. Presby Plano has a great staff and are all very accomodating, so honestly, wherever you choose will be fine. I can only imagine that Baylor Frisco is nice too, so you really can't make a wrong choice here. Good luck!

I actually have the same exact question as I need to make that decision as well. I delivered my last baby at Plano Presby and it was a great experience, but my doctor said that Baylor Frisco is really nice. The one thing I will let you know is that Baylor Frisco is physician owned - so your doctor, like mine, probably has invested in it and has a personal interest in bringing business there. That being said, I'm still going to take a tour and see if it is that much nicer. I will say, Plano Presby with their new rooms would be hard to beat - and having a full NICU could be important. Baylor Frisco can only handle some Nicu related issues.

Well I haven't delivered at Baylor or Presby but the three trips we've made to the Baylor Medical Center ER in Frisco have been excellent!! It is a really nice NEW facility and they're adding more. Plano Presby was nice but older. Hope this helps a bit. I would recommend maybe touring both before you come to a decision!!!!

I delivered my third son at Centennial in Frisco, but have taken my children to the ER at Baylor a few times. The last time I took my youngest son there (New Years Day), he had to end up being transferred to Plano Presby b/c I was told they don't have a pediatric unit there. I don't know how it works for delivery, but I would be a little nervous in case, heaven forbid, something happens and you need that unit. Just my thoughts. Good lucK!
