Bathroom Storage

Does anyone know of a really great storage item to hold my son's tub toys?
I have tried the frog pod, and it doesn't like to stay attached to the wall. I have tried it with the tape it came with, double sided tape that I bought and industrial strength velcro. I can't screw it into the wall because moisture with get in there. I am so sick of his toys just being thrown on the floor.
HELP!
Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks for all of the great advice!
I actually didn't even think of using a laundry bag so I think that is what we will do.
I really like the idea of the Bonnie Baby holder too.
Thanks again!

I got a mesh laundry bag from the dollar store and some super strong suction cups from Lowe's. I hook it to the shower/tub wall. It works great.

We also have the One Step Ahead plastic thing that stretches across the tub and love it! It's the only thing we found that holds a lot of toys and pretty much stays in place.

I use a coated wire basket that I found at the dollar store. It works better than anything I have tried in the past. At the end of bath time, my sons put the toys in the basket and I hang the basket by the handle on the faucet. All the water drains by itself. I never have to think about it and it is there where I need it. The basket has never mildewed and it doesn't get in the way. Best of all it cost a dollar!

Not as cute as a frog, but sturdy, practical, and no worries regarding not staying put!

http://www.bonnybabies.com/corall_bath_toy_organizer.htm

Adjusts to hook over the side of most bathtubs(up to 3" wide)
Shell-shaped cover hides bath accessories
Drainage holes in bottom
Does not use suction cups to attach to the bathtub
Measures 8" x 12" x 12"

The organizer/tray Christine C. recommended is a good one too, if edge/lip of the tub against the wall is deep enough, so be sure to check first.

One Step Ahead has a tub tray -- no suction cups required: http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId...

I just use a basket (Longaberger) with a plastic liner. The moisture doesn't ruin the basket and if the liner gets a bit scuzzy I can just wash it.

One Step Ahead has some great stuff we haven't found in the store either. One of my favorites is the light switch fixture that makes it easy for smaller kids to turn the lights on and off. We have one in each of our bathrooms.

I bought one of those plastic crates (whatever size you need) from the Dollar Tree, I put the toys in there so the water drains out. Sometimes in the sink, sometimes in the tub...works great and only costs a $1!!

I second the tray which goes across the tub. Nothing sticks to our bathtub tiles either. My daughter knows that when I bring the tray out, then it's time to put her bath toys away...we sing a song too :o)
What I find REALLY helpful once the toys are dry and for the shampoo, soap, washcloths, and just about anything small is a "over-the-door" plastic shoe bag with pockets. I had an extra one and decided to give it a try and it's the best thing ever. The pockets are plastic, so even if the toys are still a bit damp, they dry or I can just wipe out the individual pockets if needed. Just an extra idea for you!!!!!

We bought a plastic draw thing at Wal-Mart and he puts all his toys in there after bath time. You can get a double one or a single one. They are cheap and work really well for bathroom storage.

I have gotten little crates that have the circle holes in them. You can get them at Walmart, Target, or Garden Ridge. They work great because they have drainage holes, and they don't seem to slime up or anything. I put them in the bathtub when it's time to get out and have my kids put their toys in it. I leave it in the tub overnight, and then put it next to the tub when I or my husband take a bath. It's not cute and pretty, but it does the job. I bought a small one the first time, think I need a bigger one. Thanks for the post, it reminded me about that!

I don't know if this is what you are looking for but what about a mesh "laundry" bag? This is what we used to have and the rule was, the toys had to be in the bag before they got out of the tub or they didn't get the toys the next night...they always got their toys the next night! HTH

Honestly, I use a flower pot. The toys can drain to the bottom and don't leave a mess. I just stick the flower pot under the bathroom sink counter. We pull it out during bathtime and return under the counter the rest of the time.

I picked one up at a grocery store, a plastic cube with holes in it and a handle, the toys can be put in there, left in the tub until they dry then placed on the floor or a shelf close to the tub. It also will limit the number of toys he can have in the tub.

I went to target and got a small storage basket that has holes in it so that the water drains but I can just scoop up all the toys after a bath. Hope that helps.

A laundry sack. They come in several sizes and it has plenty of holes. I put a real screw in hook (nail will work) above the shower inthe actual wall (away from water spray). I simply take the bag down at bath time and hang it back up and let it drip afterwards. Plus, if company comes i can easily put the bag away. I also use one in our boat for sand toys. After they play i can load then back in the bags, sandy and all, and dip them in the lake and they are rinsed and ready to go.

I used to use a lingerie bag (a mesh bag for the washing machine) and hang it over the water faucet. The mesh allowed the toys to drain and not get mildewed.

I actually have 2 things...one is just a plain plastic laundry basket. It works great because I can shake it and the water drains out of the holes. Also, it can hold the bigger toys. I also have a cute pop-up mesh laundry basket that I got at IKEA...only bad thing on this is it is starting to get a little scummy from soap and water.

Get a mesh bag--kinda like you wash your hose in--but whatever size you need - it allows things to drain through it---get those suction hooks you can buy at any Walmart--they work very well and can be moved for cleaning the tub, etc.---hang it on the wall of the tub enclosure and they are neat and they drain and they are easily retrieved by a child!

We've had a turtle that hangs on the bathtub wall for about a year that works great. It was at Walmart & I think it's Munchkin brand. There's a peel & stick bar that attaches to the wall, then the turtle has 2 flat hooks to hang on. Open holes on the shell for drainage & can be used to scoop toys up! Anything with suction cups hasn't worked for us. BTW-we have a 1piece shower/tub, no tile unit. My sister in law uses a metal pail, but unless you paint it with Rustoleum, I probably wouldn't use it.

I purchased two cute plastic buckets for $1 each at Target - they were actually Easter baskets - put a few drain holes in them with an ice pic. Then I also got two of those over-the-door plastic hooks and then used those to hang from the towel rod that is in the shower/tub. Hang the buckets from the hooks -- works great and they are cute too!

I second what Rebecca suggested. We use a lingerie bag. You can buy them in different sizes (Target carries them) and then hang them up when bathtime is over. If it starts getting dirty, just throw it in the washing machine, as it is made to do.

Hey there,
I had the same problem and solved it with a hanging mesh bag I bought at a dollar store. It's great because I can just toss everything in the mesh bag and hang it on the towel rack that is in the shower and let everything dry out. When I disinfect the tub with a little bit of bleach and water, I just let the whole thing take a dip and voila, the toys are disinfected. I think wal-mart probably has something like this that would work great.

Small Milk Crate type storage bins. I found this cute white box like white plastic bin from Target. it's got a lid, but we don't use it.
I drilled some holes in the bottom and just throw all the toys in it when tub time is done. It just drains in sink and then i put it back in tub for storage.

buy a plastic basket at the dollar store, one that has the woven pattern or has some type of hole in it so the water can drain out. when you are done with the toys, plop them in the basket. Very simple and cheap.
