Baby's 1St Birthday Location Reynoldsburg, Ohio Area

We thought we were going to have a deck built but plans have changed. I tried to book Blacklick Metro Park this morning but that isn't happening. If we had resources to get tables and a sheltering tent in our backyard - we could probably turn the back yard in to a party. I'm terrible at this kind of stuff. We may have about 30 - 40 people - but then again maybe no one will show up? Looking for suggestions of all sorts.

What can I do next?

I have never used it but, I know that City BBQ on Main St. has a room that will hold up to 50 people and it is free. I don't know if you have a certain amount of fodd that you buy or what. One Year we also went to Beef O'Brady's in Pickerington. They have have a smaller room you can use and their food is great! It is nice because all the little ones can stay in one enclosed area. I hope this helps. Have a fun 1st birthday Party!

What about Magic Mountain? Reserving one of the party rooms? Or have you tried JFK yet? they have shelter and play areas as well. Unfortunatly, so much has closed around here. Oh, maybe also victory park in Pickerington. Small fee for nonresidents

I noticed your need for a facility to hold your birthday party. Our church Vineyard Community Church has a nice shelter and play ground you may use for $20.00 Let us know if you are interested. Our phone number has been changed. ###-###-####.

Honestly if you have room at home to do it outside, DO IT! We had our son's b-day at Blacklick, the party was great, but then we had to lug all the new toys home. Trust me if as many people show up as you think may come, you will had a lot to lug. Your son won't remember this one, you don't have to go over the top. Save that for when he asks for his first themed party. Good luck to you!

There are a couple of nice shelter houses in Pickerington that you can rent (they are very reasonable!). I have rented these shelters for my daughter's and son's parties many times.....as well as family get togethers. There is a children's play area right by both of the shelters and there is tennis, basketball, plus plenty of room to set up volleyball if you like. The phone number to reserve the shelters is ###-###-####. You can find out more about the shelters at www.pickerington.net.

One other idea is Slate Run....for my daughter's 2nd birhthday, we went to Slate Run park for cookies and apple cider and playtime....then we all hopped in our cars and followed each other to Slate Run Historical Farm.....the kids had a ball there also! You might want to call Slate Run and see if you can rent shelters or if they will organize anything for birthday parties. Here are their websites.... http://www.metroparks.net/ParksSlateRun.aspx and http://www.metroparks.net/ParksSlateRunFarm.aspx. A couple of phone numbers are ###-###-#### and ###-###-####.

A few last suggestions.....Three Creeks Metro Park and Chesnut Ridge Park or even Old Man's Cave. Websites: http://www.metroparks.net/ParksThreeCreeks.aspx and http://www.metroparks.net/ParksChestnutRidge.aspx and http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/tabid/743/Default.aspx.

Good luck with the party!

I would try some other nearby parks... there may be smaller ones you aren't thinking of that could be open!
Could you borrow any tables/chairs from family or friends? Or ask guests to bring a chair?
Good Luck!!

We actually just did an open house for my son's first birthday. He was pretty overwhelmed with all of the people that were there. But it turned out okay. I think we did the open house from 4 pm to 8 pm. I just had a huge crockpot with meatballs, pasta, cookies and cake. Not a whole lot of decorations. Most people hung out and talked. It was a lot of fun. Our house is pretty small but we had enough room. Not everybody was there at the same time so that was good.
