My brain is fried this evening. A quick question. I am having a baby shower for my wonderful daughter in law. Have everything
under control. Just had a thought. Should I order a corsage for her. Cannot for the life of me remember if she should have one.
I am getting old lol. Thanks ladies.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone. I love my daughter in law very much. Very, very sweet girl. She has had a rough life, losing her Mom and
Dad from cancer within a year of one another. She was 11 and 12 when they passed away. I know I can never replace her Mom,
but I can certainly be there for her. We do have a great relationship. I am truly blessed.

AFTER READING SOME OF THE OTHER RESPONSES:

First, I would NOT get a corsage.

Secont, If I did, I would NOT get anything that is too strong of a fragrence because I remember certain smells could bring on nausea and that (as we all know) is NO fun.

No, but you sound like ONE SPECIAL mother in law!

I think that would be very nice, as one does not have many opportunities in life to wear a corsage. You are a very kind and considerate MIL. Congratulations on your new grand baby!

I didn't have a corsage at mine...of course, that's the only one I've ever been to so I don't really know!! :) I personally wouldn't want some itchy flowers on my wrist during the party...just me. :) I'm sure you've planned a wonderful party!

Awww I think that's a very sweet thought whether it's an etiquette thing or not! But I agree about the fragrance, be careful in case she's sensitive to odors. I had four baby showers when I was pregnant and never got a corsage, and never went to prom, so here I am 35 and never had one, LOL. You're a sweet lady to treating her so well!

What a sweet mother in law you are! I didn't have a corsage at any of mine, one thrown by friends, one thrown by family and one at work. You might look into an artificial corsage. That way she can keep it forever and there will be no smells that might make her nautious. My husbands grandmother made all our wedding flowers and the artificial corsages were beautiful and I still have them 12 years later.

Never heard of that. I think it is bridal showers where you make a "hat" out of a paper plate and ribbon from the gifts but maybe you could do that?

I don't think a corsage is necessary. For my baby shower, my MIL gave me a very heart-touching card and that was exactly what I needed from her. It is always nice to have an emotional bond with your MIL at that point in your life! Needless to say I have held onto that card!

That is an old tradition.. could be fun for her.. Make sure it is fragrant. Rach time she smells that flower int he future, she will remember this time in her life.

I also make this same suggestions to brides.. Pick flowers with lots of fragrance.. The smells will bring back memories of your wedding day.

My husband gives me a corsage every year for Mother's Day but I never had one for a shower.

My MIL did give me a corsage for both my bridal shower and my baby shower (my in-laws threw me separate showers from my side of the family due to distance). I had never heard of it before, but it was nice. :)
