I posted this about a year ago and thought I would try it again. I am looking for someone to help me out with a baby memory quilt. I would obviously supply the onesies, outfits, etc that I would want in the quilt...is anyone interested in diong the quilting?

Thanks and have a great day!

What can I do next?

There is a very nice lady in Crystal lake who will sew it for you. Her business is called Crazy About Sewing, she is just NW of the old downtown Crystal lake. Not far from Veterans park.

I haven't had her make me a quilt, but I have bought fabric from her before and she is very friendly and honest.

If you attempt it yourself, I would use "easy knit", and iron it to the back of your pieces before sewing. You need an interfacing to stabilize the t-shirt material before sewing. You can buy it off the bolt from Joann's, they keep it by the cutting tables.

I can understand what you want to do. I too am wanting to do a first years quilt. I haven't ever done a quilt before, so I am at a loss where to start.
Do you have a sewing machine or were you wanting to find someone to do it for you? You might want to check out your local fabric store and see if they know anyone that might be able to help. There are also books on how to do it by hand or use a sewing machine if you would like to go that route. I found a book at a yard sale that is helping me. Good luck!

My mother does this. You supply the outfits, she supplies the blue jean back (so you can use it outside and it lasts long!!) and the batting. She charges about $250 for her time.

Please feel free to contact me.

I can e-mail you pictures of ones my mother has done for me (concert shirts from my youth, etc.)

i know that i have seen something about this before...if not id go to a seniorcenter and see if you can find someone to do it for a donation to their center. a lot of them knit and sew blankets for new babies and hospice patients so for a donation i dont see why they wouldnt help you out!
