Baby Fever - Spanaway,WA

Anyone have any good advice for curing baby fever? I have been wanting another baby for the last 7 years, but my husband had a vasectomy when he was married previously, and now we are not in a position to afford a reversal or other means of conceiving. I can usually shrug off the fever, but for some reason, I haven't been able to shake it off the last couple of weeks and it is making me crazy! It doesn't help that many of my friends, coworkers, and even my closest sister have just had babies.

What can I do next?

Could you watch your friends babies? I know what you mean. I had tubal reversal surgery in 2008 but we have not been blessed with a keeper yet. But we have not given up hope. It took us over 3 years to get the money for surgery. I have meet ladies who had to have tubal reversal as well as their husbands a vasectomy reversal. Hang in there. I say if he would be ok with have it undone set you up a jar and start adding money each week. Before you know it the money adds up.

The only suggestion that I have is start foster care for a baby, adopt a baby or start watching someone's baby while they work. Of course you could always get a puppy but that doesn't always work for everyone. I hope that you you are able to fulfill your baby needs while helping someone else as well.

Volunteer at the nursery at church. Change a few dirty diapers or get spit up on and maybe you'll lose the fever.

Or babysit (for free) for your friends, coworkers, and closest sister. One night with their kiddos and you may change your mind.

For me, it helps to focus on other things that I enjoy, and to work on those things for long-term satisfaction. Hobbies, etc. (for me, it's performing music) really seem to have helped me get through the last year while many friends have had babies.

I'm pretty committed to not having any more, and knowing that the baby cravings will come and go, but that I'm working on something that I enjoy, has helped. Also, it helps when I think about focusing on my one child, and appreciate being able to do so without the distraction of pregnancy or another baby...

best of luck!
