Hi Moms,

Have you ever had a B-12 shot from the doctor's office? Does it really give you more energy? Are there any side effects? Do you have issues falling asleep at night because of it? How long does it last?
Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

I would suggest taking a B-12 suppliment to determine its effects before getting a shot... ask your doctor if he even thinks you need the shot. Do you have a B-12 deficiency? Do you have other deficiencies or health problems that could be causing you to have low energy?

There is almost never a magic pill to fix your one problem, but there is often a cause for the problem, and you can work to improve that.

B-complex supplements are all I need. They definately give a big burst of energy.
If the shot gives sustained energy, I would go for it.
I take the supplement and my co-workers laughed at me. But now they've all come around. They come to me several times a week asking for one because they're tired without it.

I had to get the injections bi-weekly when I was pregnant due to low absorption not due to no energy.

I never have trouble falling asleep , staying asleep is my problem with a hubby snorer and he is gets up all hours of the night to work.

As for after pregnancy, I took the sublinimal (sp) liquid B-12 and that absorbs better than a pill.

Again, I take it because my body does not absorb properly. I have too much iron in my system but I am anemic.. what gives.. anyway the B-12 helps with that aspect but I never had a huge surge of energy with the shot or liquid.

You have to consider why you want the shot. If you need more energy you need to look at what foods you're eating. Don't eat flours, pasta, breads, sugars. They will slow you down. Eat vibrant foods, lots of colors of fruits and veggies. Fresh whole grains, nuts and seeds, these will give you lots of energy, all the vitamins you need and make you feel great.
