Hello ladies,
I have been thinking about selling Avon. Now I don't want someone to sponser me because I already have that person. I want to know how realistic it is to think you can make a living doing this. I have seen the commericals that have been on TV lately, but I want to know if it's for real. I mean buying your own brochures seems costly. Then driving everywhere to place the brochures and then driving to take the orders to the customers and then paying for returning stuff. I just don't know if it's worth it. I am in the position that I could do it full time. Is it possible to make a decent living without killing yourself?
Thank you so much,
Lonie

Honestly I've never met anyone who made money off of it. They have some good stuff, and a lot of people are customers, but it's one that you just don't make much (if anything) from.

Hi Y.,

I have not tried selling Avon - my grandmother did many years ago. I don't know how much you can make off of Avon. I was laid off back in the spring and I have hooked up with a team that is incredible. We are marketing reps for an international wellness company that has products for your home, bath & body, nutrition and even the exclusive line of Nicole Miller makeup. I have taken a leap because I would like to be home and available to be with our youngest kids, 10 and 12. Our 10 year old boy is in 4th and has minor learning issues and with this being a TAKS years for him it was important that if I could work it, I would. I have been working the products since April and took off July and most of August due to many kid related camps (plus our oldest went to college this year). The products are eco-friendly and very safe and my family loves them!!! And the training - wow - we have a once a week conference call that has tips and suggestions and not to mention the lady who introduced me is with me every step of the way until I get to the level that I can fly on my own (altho she will always be there w/ the conference call or just a phone call to ask a question). And like everyone else has said, it does take work - but it is fun and great helping others. Let me know if you are interested. thanks

J.

You can... but if you think it will take less time than a job, you're being snowed by someone.

This is true of every multi-level-marketing company: it's a job, and to make money at it takes work. And time. And, of course because nothing comes for free, often up-front cash to stock stuff...

I just got into Avon myself. One tends to see all the good stuff and spend your profits on buying stuff for yourself. Of course I am not doing it full time. I think if you did it full time and kept up with the customers that bought, i.e. make sure you give them the next catalog and email/call them saying your order is going in, do they need anything. Sponsoring others, seems to help alot also, as you get 7% from their orders. So if you sign up enough reps, you could make some money, not doing much.

As usual with anything, it depends how much effort you put in it. And with any home business, it takes a while to build up your clientele. In the mean time, you are not making much and sometimes losing. And if you will notice, the more catalogs you buy, the cheaper the rate.

You can also have a store on line, as shown below. Of course you have to pay for that, but if you have alot of emails all over the united states, it is worth it.

Decisions, decisions......

I have a Work at Home Business and have networked with many successful Avon reps in the Dallas area, I say go for it, you have nothing to lose but it will require time especially in the beginning if you want significant income.
I personally did not want to purchase inventory or invest money so I am not a distributor, my business is mainly online with Work at Home United.
There is a network showcase event in Lewisville on Monday Oct 16th at 7pm. I think they have an Avon table open. If you get started and want to attend to promote your business contact me for details.

Did you ever join Avon, just curious? I have sold it for 6 years. I also work full time. You have to be a really outgoing person to sell Avon full time. You have to be willing to get out there and bust your bootie to get customers. And willing to drive to get them their stuff or have them come to your house. I have tried passing out books on my street, just on my street and never got one reply. All my customers are where I work. If your orders are around 200-300 you don't make much money. if they are around 600-700 you could make about 150, if you don't spend on yourself. BUT I know people in the district that sell it full time and have lots of people under them and that is how they make their money. That really is the key, to sign up people under you and have them sign up people, and so on. Then you'll make money. Let me know what you ended up doing.

Hi Y.,

I noticed that you are interested in working a home business. Might I suggest you consider joining our team. I work with a wellness company that, unlike AVON, doesn't involve driving, taking orders, stocking products and the initial investment to get started is under $30. I would love to share more about it with you to see if it would be something you are interested in...I love it. Feel free to give me a call or visit my website to get more infomration. Click on "business info" or "request more info"

I love having the ability to make some additional income from home, and not having the risk of investing a lot to get started on something before you know if you will be successful or not and I LOVE this company.

Hope to hear from you!
L.
