do not see Boca lawyer Valerie Kanouse. EVER. She represented me and I cannot recommend her.

Do however, interview at least three lawyers, asking first if they give free consultation. Do not pay money for this advice. They all want your business.
Take questions with you, like alimony, child support, the basics, then health and life insurance, how long can you expect to receive these contributions, what is taxable to you (I think it's the alimony only, not the child support...and the child support is tax free to the father so perhaps get a larger amount over alimony...ask first)
Who will stay in the house, what about visitation? We have (my ex and I ) a very loose custody arrangement. He pays for their (3 boys) health insurance, education, takes them on vacations, summer camps, the works. They are fortunate. And I am happy to be divorced.
