Athleta Clothing (Swimwear)

I am actually in a position where I HAVE to buy a new swimsuit. I cannot find my old swimsuits, and if I did I would find pre-pregnancy swimsuits, (too big) and a maternity suit (I'm not prego anymore).

I NEVER buy myself stuff, much less bathing suits, so I'm unfamiliar with all brands and their sizing, etc. I've been looking around, and there are a few swimsuits that I like- they ALL happen to be by the brand "Athleta". So, I was hoping some of you are familiar with this brand. For one thing, I'm NOT athletic. I'm average build with a post- prego belly and d-cups. Can anyone tell me how this brand fits and such? THANKS!

i have athleta swimsuits. i have a few of them. i have one that has not worn so well that i bought end of season two years ago and another that i bought three years ago that still looks brand new (this was before the gap bought athleta). i picked up another top and bottom on sale feature. they have good deals on swimsuits in my opinion on the sale tab. i am a double DD so really there are not many options in swimsuits. they fit me well and i do not have an athletic build.

Athleta is owned by Gap Inc, which owns Gap (obviously), Banana Republic and Old Navy. I would imagine that if you have one of these stores nearby, you can just try their things on for size and then you will have some idea of how Athleta will fit you. Hope this helps!

I haven't worn their swimsuits, but have had a couple of dresses, bras, and leggings. I am really happy with the quality. I find that they can be a little on the slimmer cut side, but it really just depends on the garment. I think you'll be happy with the level of support if you are sprting a D-cup.

I bought my 1st one this year and it fits well, very comfortable. My best friend talked me into it because she has many from there (she likes the dresses too). I found reading the reviews gave me more info about how a particular design fit. I am not athletic either.

Hi! I was in the same position as you in March and bought an Athleta swimsuit, I couldn't be happier with the fit and the quality. I bought a tankini with the built-in underwire bra and I definitely recommend it. I was a 36-D at the time, I also got the "tall" fit (even though I'm only 5'2) to make sure that no tummy shows even if I lift my arms up and jump around. It's built so if you do water sports you'll be comfortable, but it's also great for lounging around. The difference between this brand and others is that the quality is very good, and the top and bottoms were very secure and comfortable, so if a wave (or a baby) grabs your top, it's not going to fall off and leave you "exposed!"

I love them! I've had good luck with everything I've gotten from Athleta including their swimwear. Make sure you get something with D cup capabilities though. Several of their suits have larger breast size options. I think they fit pretty true to size.

I love Athleta! It's a bit pricey for me, but I did buy one of their swimsuits last year and I must admit........it's really nice! The quality is wonderful and the fit is great! I actually called their customer service line to inquire about which size to get and they were very polite and very helpful! They will also send you the necessary paperwork to return/exchange if the suit happens to not fit. Also, if you do have to exchange it for a different size, they will overnight your new one at no charge. So, I thought that was really cool. I say go for it! =0)
