N.B.
Walmart has plus size girls swimsuits. They are the same height as the regular sizes but larger around the middle. They fit kids that are a bit heavier perfectly.
I have a ten year old daughter that is fuller in in the midsection (tummy). We are having a terrible time finding a bathing suit that will fit her. Everything is too tight in the midsection. I was wondering if anyone had ideas for places that have good options that fit the following:
1. Tankini
2. maybe ones that tie in the back?
3. modest but fun
Thanks in advance!
Thanks! I jumped on land's End (hadn't thought of that before) and found tons within our price range! I ordered several sizes/styles and we will return what doesn't work! Thanks so much!!!

Lands End. Good one pieces and they have plus size too I think.
Lands End has great swim suits in plus sizes for kids. Take a quick measurement and order online. You can very likely find a coupon or free shipping. Justice also has plus size swimwear for girls and is so cute!! Cute cover ups too!
Or try a sports store that caters to swim team type stuff.
Just reading this now - we do Lands End a lot. Good quality suits, think you will be happy :)
Another vote for Land's End.
A little more pricey but they last and they are good quality suits. They will last and not turn all saggy, baggy in the butt and chest areas.
Tankinis are awesome and the way to go. I hate one piece suits and don't know many women or kids that wear them anymore. Once you go tankini you rarely go back!! They are easy to pull down for restroom use, easy to put on and take off and you can move easier in them without having the bottom region riding up your crack :)
You can buy different size top and bottom according to your body type. There is rusching (sp?) on many suits so as to make you feel more comfortable and it gives a slimming effect.
I personally like the ones that tie at the back of the neck. Ones with single straps over the shoulders just never work for me cuz I am small chested. So I like that I can cinch the straps around my neck.
Go online and let your daughter look at all the swimsuit combinations. Get her excited about swimming and that there are lots of different body shapes. Help her to be comfortable in her own skin.
Land's End has a fabulous return policy. They are so great to work with. You can even return their swimsuits to a Sear's store.
My now 11 year old got a tankini from Old Navy when she was 10. At the time it was a tiny bit large - nothing gaping just room to grow - so it fits her perfectly now. The size of the top was a petite small and the bottoms are a regular women's small. She had a bit of a gut and we found that a tankini was our best option to fit her torso in both length and width.
Amazon...if all else fails, always Amazon, lol
got my favorite swimsuit at a sports store. i was a lifeguard and a one piece was required.
will be looking into a tankini for my next suit though. probably at the same sports store or on amazon
I only buy my daughters swim suits from Land’s End. They make plus sizes and normally fit larger than other brands. My daughter is also fuller in the mid-section.
The suits are good quality and they have a lot of styles.
Gymboree has lot of cute swim suits and ususally has a good selection of tankini that come down to a modest length.
