Are You Work on Valentine's Day?

Happy Valentine's Day! I will be working this Valentine's Day in the evening, I honestly am ok with it since we try to do a date night once a month any way (we will celebrate love with or without Valentine's). I work at a concert hall and every other year we have a lovely dinner & romantic concert and it always sells out, I really enjoy being able to bring romance to others even if I have to spend the special night away from my hubby.

How many others here will be working that evening? Do you wish you could spend it with your significant other or are you ok with helping enhance others Valentine's Day even if you are not with the one you love?

What can I do next?

I work at an elementary school, so yes, I will be at work. :)
I also work at a portrait studio part time, and just found out I'm scheduled to work after school there as well.
I will be home around 7:30 from both jobs, and will celebrate with hubby then.

You said it best K...."celebrate love, with or without Valentines Day." I have never much liked the pressure card, candy and jewelry makers put on us to "celebrate our love." I have been happily married for over 18 yrs and yes, my hubs does nice things for me on Valentines day...but he does nice stuf for me ALL THE TIME cause he likes to spoil me! LOL! W/ 2 teen/tween kids right now, we are happy to get a free night WHENEVER we can!!

Don't get me wrong...it IS a fun holiday, but shouldn't be taken too seriously...my husband should love me every day, without being told...and the flowers mean way more if there is no reason for giving them!

Valentine's day is just another day for my husband and I. We both work during the day. I'm sure we'll be together with our kids after work. But we don't have anything special planned.

Honey, I work EVERY DAY. In 3 years I've taken 3 days off... 2 to have a baby, 1 the day AFTER my wedding ;) I work from home, it's not a big deal to me ;)

Now if I was going to be away from my honey, like you are, I would relish in bringing romance to others and text my guy as often as possible with little love notes and/or leave him a scavenger hunt at home with a little surprise at the end, preferably me wearing little to nothing under a trench coat by the time I got off work ;)

I work during the day but once I get home, I will be making a regular dinner etc. We don't make a big deal out of it--same with Sweetest Day. I usually get my kids little things and maybe a special dessert, but that's it.

I am not working, but we don't go out on Valentine's Day. We will exchange valentines with each other and the kids and have a special dessert.

I will not be working that night but my husband I am sure will be. He works for a grocery store and they are always busy at Valentine's! I will probably take my boys to see my oldest son's girlfriend so they can exchange gifts. We don't normally do much this time of year. But we will see if he decides to suprise me. I am not holding my breath!!!

I work the 9-5 kind of shift, in at 630 out at 330, so I'm home in the evenings. My hsuband works 2 hours away, so he won't be home until 6 or so. We do Valentines with the kids though. So it's no big deal to us regardless.

The kids will get their gifts in the mornings and I may do some fun dinner for the night. We'll celebrate with an activity (think either Spy Museum or one of the Black History Month displays in DC) that Friday - praying my daughter doesn't have dance!

Not me, but my husband is a chef, so he's working. We're going for Indian food for lunch the day before, and for wings late-night on the 14th :) We "date" a lot, but we rarely have the money to eat out together, so that's what makes it special for us.

I work mornings, so I won't be working then. However, at my house, Valentine's Day evening is more about family. We'll have a special dinner and share cards with each other. The Saturday before or after V Day is my date night with my honey.
