Get a pee test. None of us can answer the question. Sorry. Every pregnancy is different, so perhaps you're having symptoms of a pregnancy, but perhaps not.
Hi Mamas,
I am beginning to suspect that I may be pregnant... This would be my second child. My first just turned one year and is still nursing, which is where my question comes in. With my first pregnancy one of the first symptoms I experienced (about 6 weeks, which is as far along as I would be now) was my breasts swelling. They didn't necessarily get tender, I just remember them being swollen and puffy looking. Lately I feel like my breasts have been a little fuller, but not so much swollen looking as the first time. I've explained it away with DS's nursing as I've always had an overproduction issue. The past couple days I have had the occasional feeling of slight nausea after eating, a little lower abdominal cramping, and a bit of fatigue, too. I don't know if it's all in my head or if this is for real but I am starting to wonder a bit more seriously if I am i fact pregnant.
So nursing mamas, what happened to you when you became pregnant for the second time? Was there an increase in milk? Did your breasts get just as swollen as the first time around? Any other noticeable changes relating to nursing?
Thanks!!
Well, I've taken a couple tests and they came up negative! Kind of sad, but kind of relieved simultaneously. It may just have been from ovulation!

If you think you are 6 weeks pregnant go buy a test. That is the only way to know for sure. None of us can tell you if you are pregnant or not. The symptoms you are having could be signs of pregnancy or they could be signs of your period coming.
Go to the Dollar Store and buy a test:0)
I hope you have the outcome you are hoping for! Good luck :)
Thanks for the PM :)
If you are 6 weeks along then you would register on a HPT. They are $1 at the dollar stores..go get one...we just come from there and They are open on Easter :)
Good luck
This didn't happen to me, because my children are farther apart in age, but for many women, the child who is nursing quits nursing when momma became pregnant. The taste of the milk can change and evidently, some babies don't like it.
I was nursing my 10 month old when I noticed that it suddenly hurt to nurse - almost as much as the first few days of my first baby. I also found myself falling asleep on the floor while playing with my son. I hadn't had any periods since giving birth so I didn't even think to take a test until I was almost 6 weeks pregnant. Definitely take a test!!
YES! My first symptom when I became pregnant with #2 was very sore nipples- nursing DS became very painful all of a sudden. Took me a while to clue in, I just thought maybe he was getting new teeth or it had to do with my period finally coming back...lol...I only had 4 periods in the almost 2 years between DS1's birth and DS2's conception, nursing the whole time.
I just experienced this, so I feel called to share it with you. I knew I was pregnant (while nursing my 22 month old) when I noticed a persistent warm, stretching sensation in my abdomen. I also had a frequent need to urinate, fatigue and an unusually heavy, clear discharge 2-3 weeks after beginning to wean my son (prior to that I had not gotten my menses). However, I had no morning sickness or loss of appetite whatsoever. I figured that the prolactin was keeping the estrogen at bay and was excited that I had found a way to avoid this miserable detail. When I began having a threatened miscarriage around week 5 I did some research. It seems that one of the common causes of miscarriage is low hormones and that there are other nursing mammas who have noticed a correlation between lower hormones (progesterone) and breastfeeding while pregnant. I believe I will probably miscarry completely since all my pregnancy symptoms are gone now. I think I make up an under-reported percentage of women who are unable to have a successful pregnancy while breastfeeding. The good news is that they are able to supplement the nursing mamma with progesterone if this is the case. According to kellymom it is supposedly safe for the nursling.
Oh, and I didn't have any noticeable changes to my milk - I think once my son alluded to a taste difference, but I could have imagined that. A friend of mine had a drop in her supply fairly early on.
I was sick for a day and just KNEW. Then my milk began to dwindle and I had to go to formula when son was about 6 mos old. Got pregnant when the first was 3 mos old. The second pregnancy went really fast since I didnt even know I was pregnant until I was a little over 3 mos along. I was still recovering from the first time around and didnt see the signs :)
I just remember it became extremely painful to nurse, but don't remember how pregnant I was...maybe 4-6 weeks along. I was hoping the change in milk taste would cause my baby to wean but it didn't. I think the pregnancy, along with still nursing and caring for a toddler all contributed to extreme fatigue in the first trimester, way worse than with # 1.
Sounds like you should take a test. I was still nursing my son, though only mornings/evenings and as needed on weekends, at 14 months. I had no thought of pregnancy in my mind, but I was suddenly VERY hungry AND tired ALL the time. I couldn't figure out why until I was about a week or so late for my period. I took the test and sure enough, preggers! Good luck, whatever the cause of your symptoms.
