Are Hotel Cribs Worth It?

My husband, toddler, and I will be staying a few nights in a hotel for Christmas vacation. Our car is small and we don't have the room to pack a lot. I am trying to figure out if I should bring our pack-in-play or try out the hotel offered cribs. Has anyone used them before?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks eveyrone for the great advice! I called the hotel which does provide pack-in-plays but for a $10/night charge. I think I will just take our own since it's free. :-)

My sister in law used a hotel crib when she visited us a few months ago. It was a pack and play and it worked just fine. We put a blanket down and then put a sheet over top of it. It gave the pack and play a little extra cushion. They look so hard to me. I would call the hotel you'll be staying at and see what they offer.

We have used them - but they are just pack n plays. If you do use the hotel's, bring your own sheets, as often they just had a larger sheet tucked in, which I have found was looser than I would have liked.

You should call the hitel. Most hotels now use pack-in-plays instead of cribs.

I would call ahead to make sure they have enough on hand, so there aren't any surprises when you check in! I stayed at a Holiday Inn in Florida & their crib was just fine!

Use the hotel crib! We used one at a holiday inn in madison. It was a little small, but it was GREAT compared to cramming our pack-n-play into the car. Plus it was free, you just had to reserve it in advance to make sure it was available (I guess only one in the whole hotel).

Hi L.. Like another posted said it depends on the hotel in my experience. Higher end hotels I'd use the crib. Sounds snooty, but we found some hotels we just didn't feel the crib was great quality. What I do is bring my daughters crib sheet (not spanking clean, so it still "smells" like home) and her bumper when she used it, and her music thing, so I recreated the crib like it was hers at home.

I work at a hotel called Holiday Inn. I do believe it is world wide. What we use is the pack and go cribs. I don't know if all hotels use these but they do look so uncomfortable and seem to look like they could use some extra padding for a more comfortable sleep.

The hotel cribs are fine. We have used them often in our travels. I would just recommend bringing your own sheet and blanket.
