Apps for Ipad

Disney has some great apps. There is one for It's a Small World that has been my daughters favorite for some time now. There is a free Disneyland one that is a lot of fun to explore. The Wiggles have a number of apps that are great for little ones. There are some really good Dr Seuss ones as well. Word Wizard is a good one if you are playing it with her until she gets a little older. Laurie Berkner Band has a free app that is nice. One favorite for sign language is Baby Sign.

Musical ones, such as Soundprism (the whole family LOVES that one). There are also a bunch of free percussion, xylophone, piano apps. I can't claim I got the best ones, but even they are fun.

We have pianoball on our ipad for our son just because he's at the age where he likes to bang things and press buttons (he's 8 months).

But yeah it's a piano app and you can change the instrument, colors various other things and play on your own OR play a song where they will highlight the key that you need to hit.

It's a fun app, I think we ended up buying it for like 2.99 or something.

We use it sparingly for the littles (I bought it for a plane trip), but two apps she likes are Peekaboo Barn and Peekaboo Forest.

Also, in another 6 months or so, she'll probably like MonkeyPreschoolPlayhouse.

For books, try "The Monster at the End of the Book" starring Grover of Sesame Street and "The Going to Bed Book" by Sandra Boynton.

Duck Duck Moose has some fun apps that are .99 to 2.99. We had Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Baa Baa Black Sheep. They have a few other really good ones that are more fun for younger kids. Fun songs and bright colors and you don't to do much to play.
