My 4 YO has ABC flash cards. I don't use many of the apps because what I would like would have to be custom created and then I would want the ability to print.

My favorite thing on there is the youtube button. I look up my favorite photographers and watch their slides during free time at work or doctors office, etc.

For me and the kids. Plants vs. Zombies, Angry Birds, and Chain Rxn are the favorites. Rxn is soooo simple and amusing. Bright colors and little chimes. I know my 2 year old loves it.

Besides "words with friends" one of my apps is "GoMeals" which is a free download from the Apple store. It has the Calorie King book on line and you can check out of the calories, carbs, fats, & salts of food at many national restaurants and things you buy at the store. (sometimes you want to know and sometimes you don't want to know the calories, but it can help you make better choices.

Why does a 2 1/2 year old need to play games on your iPhone? It should be something you use and need. Keep him busy by taking him outdoors and letting him move around so he gets some exercise. If you need him to be quiet in some places, take soft toys and coloring books and books so he gets used to having fun with books and learns to read.

My 2 yo son loves the following:

Trucktunes (the BEST if your son loves trucks...this is a video that has songs for each type of truck)
all the ones from "Duck Duck Moose"....there's Old MacDonald, Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Wheels on the Bus, and Fish School. They're all interactive with songs
ITotCards - Flash Cards in several languages that have sound

My two year old loves a game app called balloonimals. They can choose different balloons that blow up. Then by shaking they turn into different balloon animals that when you touch them they do different things. You can also "over blow" them up to pop them. Then start all over.
