Congrats on your new "job" staying home! I was in a similar situation as you when I decided to become a Pampered Chef Consultant. I did consider many other direct sales companies before making my decision. I have been with the company for 2 years and it has provided us with the added income needed and the ability to stay at home with my daughter. On the other hand, what about other party plans? Jewelry? Books? etc. What is your passion? What do you like to do? One BIG element of direct sales and home party plans is to LOVE your product. If you do, this shows through to your guests, hostesses, etc and makes them excited about it too.
I make a great income with no deliveries, no inventory, great hostess plans, etc and I get to wear my product everyday and be a walking advertisement - LOL.

I have a friend who does tastefully simple but she mostly just holds open houses twice a year.

If you're looking to do at home parties you should check out Juxtaposie.com. They are a relatively new company that sells one of a kind handbags. They're super trendy and fun and Oprah even commisioned them to create a bag for her.
