Anyone Have a TempurPedic Bed?

I do not have one, but when I asked my chiropractor about one he was very opposed to it. He said they wear out quickly so they are not worth the expense. He also didn't think it would help my pain issues. He also had some negative opinions about the guarantee or warranty they provide, but I don't remember the details of it. I have a Kingsdown mattress I really like it, but it is getting older so I asked my chiropractor for a mattress recommendation.

We bought a Sealy black label second from the top of the line and I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!!! We have had it almost a year and it was the best investment ever made. My hubby and I both race to the bed giggling because we love it so much. My hubby moves around all night and I don't feel a thing because of the individual coils where as before he practically launched me out of bed every time he moved. Can't say enough...I love love love this bed!

My hubby and I debated between the TempurPedic and the Sleep Number bed when we replaced ours a year ago. We got the Sleep Number and wish we would have gotten the Tempurpedic (by the time we got the entire bed, the 30-day return period was over). My sister has a Tempurpedic and loves it. The only problem that she and her husband have with their bed is that it sometimes gets too hot. The more expensive models have features that are supposed to allow air to flow better between you and the bed so you don't get too unbearably hot. After our experience with the Sleep Number bed, we've decided that in a couple years we're going to move it into the guest bedroom and replace it with one of the deluxe Tempurpedic beds. They're definitely worth the cost.

Hi J., my husband and I bought a TempurPedic bed when I was pregnant with my 3 year old. We love it. we bought the "Orignal" and have no complaints. My husband is 6'7" and 300 lbs. I am 5'5" and about 140 lbs. With this bed I have no problems as far as sinking into the middle or sliding toward my husband all night. You can't even feel the person getting out of bed or moving at all. It's such a comfortable cozy sleep. The only down side at all is it's warm. I've heard people complain they get too hot in that type of bed. We haven't experienced that problem, we are extremely happy with our decision to try a TempurPedic.

Ask the people at the store if there is a motel in town that they have a abed at and spend the night there. Be aware that those type of matteresses tend to cling to your body more so if you get hot easy it coupld be a problem. Usually the store offers a 90 day return policy if you don't like the bed. As for the cheaper one find out what the warranty difference is. Good luck!

We got one about 4 months ago and really like it. A massage therapist who is also a nurse recommends it to all her clients and she has one too. She said everyone she knows who has one likes it.

I find that the mattress supports you so well that you don't move as much at night so it's important to make sure you pick a 'pose' to sleep in that will be comfortable all night. If one person does move or get off the bed the other person doesn't get jostled around at all.

My 7 year old daughter calls it the melty bed and wants one too. One good thing with kids is that they can't jump on the bed easily since it's not springy.

We have had our TempurPedic for just about a year now. Just the basic "original" type. Both my husband and I have back trouble. I don't wake up with back pain anymore, but my husband doesn't see much difference in his pain. We both agree that we sleep better. I am a very active sleeper and tend to wake him up with all my tossing and turning. With this bed he doesn't feel me moving around. One thing my husband does not like about the bed is that it feels hot to him in the summer months. I don't have a problem with that. If you do get one, don't spend the extra money on a bedframe upgrade. We did that and the darn thing sqeaked so bad we had to switch back to our old bedframe. That was even after the company sent people out to "fix" it. Good luck!

We do not like ours at all. My husband is twice my size (tall/thick, not a runner's body) and we thought this would be a good solution to getting a matress we both like. Not so.
I sleep fine, but My husband does not like it at all.

We have one and I was hoping it would "fix" some of my pain issues. It has really helped my husband and we are very happy with it, but I still have pain so it isn't a miracle cure. We asked a sales person at Slumberland to watch for a return or slightly defective one that we could get for less. We only ended up paying $1000 instead of two. I don't know if there is much difference with the more expensive materials. It seemed gimicky to me. We just got the basic "last years model."

We purchased a TempurPedic bed about 3 years ago on the advice from my doctor. I have chronic pain and fibromyalgia, so her recommended it. My husband and I both don't like it. I feel stiff when I wake up. However, they are so expensive that we are stuck with it. On the other hand our good friends have one and love it. So it really depends on the person. I have since slept on Sleep Number bed and it was the best nights sleep I had had since my car accident which caused all the pain and problems. Good luck, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have chronic back pain.

My husband and I got a king size about 3 yrs ago. We both have been very happy. You can definitely tell less pressure points. I do think it softens with time tho, if you sleep in the same spot every nite and generate a lot of body heat as I do.They tell you not to use heating pads or electric blankets as the excess heat will affect the mattress. Loved the pillows too. Interested to hear other's responses.

I think they are hot. I sweat with my memory foam pillow.

I think it depends on the types of pain that you are having as to what bed is best. We have both a sleep number bed and a tempurpedic bed. I like the sleep number bed as I have a very bad back and neck. I find the temperpedic bed does not allow me to move and I wake up in the morning more sore. However, my husband who has more shoulder pains likes the tempurpedic bed better. A lot of hotels do have them now so I would highly recommend sleeping on one for a night and just make sure you use your warranty if you're not happy if you do buy one.

When we got ours, there were 2 different thicknesses available and we got the thicker one. I am generally thin so I have a hard time finding a mattress that I feel is actually supportive and conforming and my husband has back issues and complains about spring mattresses. We did spend a night at a hotel with Sleep Number beds and while that was fine for me, he felt awful in the morning. Anyway, my only real issue with the mattress is that while at the end of pregnancy and/or recovering, it takes more pressure to get into a sitting position because I'm trying to use leverage against what is basically a sponge. If that makes sense.

We have had a tempurpedic bed now for 4 years. It took us a week to get used to it. I almost gave up, but now I have trouble sleeping on anything else. My husband and I always comment on how everything we spent on the bed was totally worth it. We got the top of the line 4 years ago, I don't recall the name of the model though. I would suggest spending the money to get a higher model.

My hubby and I have one and love it! We sleep so comfortably and haven't regretted the purchase at all. I had/have problems with sore hips from running and during a past pregnancy but not when sleeping in the tempurpedic.

And another added bonus is that its so quiet. Our baby's crib is in our room and its easy to get in and out of bed with making too much noise and waking him up.

We also love the pillows.
