Anyone Have a Daughter That's Babysitting Age?

My husband and I are looking for a babysitter(s) in our area or one with a car and can drive herself. (We are in New Boston.) It's hard to find a good reliable and honest babysitter these days. We have two daughters 8 and 10 who'll be 9 and 11 in May. We like to go out on the weekends (but not every weekend of course) and on occasion a weeknite here and there but never too late during the week. Also possibly we may need summer help. Please respond as soon as possible, and girls of age 14 and up please. We pay great too! :)

I have boys that sit, but we are in the wrong area for you. How about somebody from your church? Or an older sister of one of your girls friends?

Wish we were closer, I am sure we could help you out.

Just a note .. Our church just started 5th Friday night. Every month that has a 5th Friday, you bring the kids and they watch them so the parents can have a DATE night! Suggest it to your church ... it is sure a wonderful offer :)

Good luck!

M., I just found a great sitter by placing an ad in my local paper. I had to screen several candidates. Then ran a background check and checked references on our final candidate. Through interviewing her I learned alot about her "parenting" style as well as her personal beliefs. It was a lot of work but well worth it to find someone I feel 100% comfortable leaving with my children. It is always good to have more than one sitter. I was able to find back up sitters by talking to other moms in my area - I found two great weekend sitters that way. Another thought...post an flyer &/or network at your church.

I'd check some of your local daycare centers, alot of the teachers there like to pick up some extra income. I live near Grandhaven, and all the teachers at my DD's DC have there #'s posted in the entry way for weekend gig's.

I am also in the same boat. I have 2 boys 9 and 5 and me and my Husband never have a day to our selves. We live in the Flat Rock area. I recently asked a mom at my youngest son's school if we could swap weekends or whenever. I thought that was a good idea. If you are interested let me know.
