K.,
I haven't used those daycare centers, but here's another idea for one in the NE side of town - Whistle Stop. It's located in the Marywood center over on Fulton St. (Fulton & Maryland) I believe.

I've heard nothing but excellent things about them and they are owned by the same people who own the daycare I use and have used for over 4 years. During the summer my daycare center and Whistlestop will sometimes do activities together.

My daycare is Creative Learning Center, but it's Southeast... Whistlestop would be more in your area.

Hope that helps.
L.

i don't know if you've found a great daycare yet, but my favorite is kindercare. there's one on the corner of Plainfield and Coit (across the street from riverview athletic club and barnes research). i loved the fact that alison was bringing things home that she had colored or made. they also had kiddie computer stations!! I've also heard wonderful things about TutorTime. i worked at alphabet soup and when a few of the children left they went to tutortime. my mother worked with a few of the kids' parents and they just loved tutortime. i wouldn't recommend alphabet soup if you wanted your child to be challenged at all. basically, the child care associates watch the kids to make sure they don't get hurt and that's it. there is time out but there's just not a lot of adult/child interaction.

I have not heard about any of these daycare facilities. Always check out backround history.I have 3 children and one on the way, when I needed childcare, I used in-home. You can always look into that.Good luck. L.

There are lots of great home daycares in the area. They might be better for an infant? Check with the kent county 4C and they'll send you a list for your zip. I love my current provider. She is Heather Kah on Waterford. I don't know if she has any more openings but you can call.

I used Alphabet Soup and while it is reasonable in price, I didn't think my son was challenged much and he didn't seem to like going, so I took him out. This could just be him, not the center. I then took him to Tutor Time, which he loved, but it was expensive. Now he goes to the Spectrum Health daycare on Lake Drive. He loves this the most. (I work as Spectrum and get a discount.) But you can still take your child there if you don't work for Spectrum.
