Any Creative Ideas on What to Do with Ripped Clothing?

I have several articles of clothing that have ripped and don't seem to be mendable (at least not by me). I hate throwing them away, though, and I feel bad about donating clothes in that condition to a charity. Any ideas? I have a pair of capri's, a dress shirt and some lined suit pants.

What can I do next?

Just in response to another post...I don't know about Goodwill, but I used to work for a St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores, and we recycled damaged clothes. I assumed the other charities did the same.

Consult a tailor to see if they could repair them? Some of them are pretty reasonably priced.

Well, just so you know, most charities (like goodwill) actually throw the clothes away themselves if they receive anything with holes or large stains. Why don't you try posting an ad on craigslist under the free section? Somebody who really needs it and can mend might grab them!

Our curbside recycling takes clothes to be recycled...yours might as well.

I would put them on Freecycle or Craigslist. Be honest about the condition, but someone will snatch them right up. I am on Freecycle and see postings for clothes like that all the time. Crafty people will fix them or salvage the fabric, zippers, etc.
