Any Comments About Lee Davis Pediatrics or Richmond Pediatrics?

Does anyone take their children to Lee Davis Pediatrics or Richmond Pediatrics? We just moved to Mechanicsville and I have taken my daughter to Lee Davis twice and am not sure about them. I've heard good things about Richmond Pediatrics (office in Mechanicsville) but don't want to switch unless I'm sure it's good. Any comments about either practice would be much appreciated!

So What Happened?

Thanks to everyone who responded with comments about these two pediatric practices. The information offered has been very helpful to me and I have decided to keep my daughter at Lee-Davis Pediatrics and just ask to see one of the other doctors recommended.

My daughter goes to Richmond Pediatrics on Bell Crek Road and they are wonderful. Everyone is super nice and all the doctors have specialties that they deal with. When we were in the NICU with my daughter and I asked them whom was good with dealing with premiees they told me Rich Peds. I highly recommend them. I did a reveiw on them, you can check that out.

I have heard good things about Richmond Pediatrics (Mechville) but will never go there. A dear friend of mine had an 18 month old son who started day care in December 2005 and kept getting ear infections and colds when at the end of January he got worse. The mother kept taking him back but they kept saying he was fine, just an ear infection and gave antibiotics. The week preceding February 7 he was much worse, screaming all night long though we all knew him to be a contented child. She took him in again, he had developed bad sores in his mouth. The doctors there failed to diagnose his meningitis and he died on February eighth. This has of course destroyed their family when it could have been detected-- he would have lived if they had looked in his mouth or questioned why he was still so sick even while on antibiotics! I know this is a horrid thing to have to read but just trying to give my perspective as to why I would never take my children there.

I take my daughter to Lee Davis Pediatrics and has Dr. Chris Privetera. We have had good experiences there. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I absolutely love Lee-Davis. My son will be two next month and Dr. Privitera has been taking care of him since the day that he was born. She was at the hosptial talking to us w/in half an hour of his birth. She's very good with him even when we were in there 6 times in a month because of cold she never once complained and always made us feel better. That was the month that his dad was in between insurance so she gave of plenty of samples so that we wouldn't have to pay full price for his new medicine. And she has the patience. They have good walk in hours and Sat. hours. All the Dr's and staff there know us because of Matthew's medical problems when he was born and they always make us feel welcome.
