Hi J.! Guess what? RELAX! I had four kids in five
years and everyone of my "tests" at first came out borderline!!!
Isn't life beautiful?

My husband and I are very proud parents of a 5yr old son and a 16 month old daughter. We have been trying to conceive our third for about 6 months now. It's such an emotional roller coaster! We had my daughter together and our son is from a previous marriage. I think I might be pregnant this time I haven't missed my period yet (I have 3 days) and I took and home pregnancy test yesterday morning and we saw a very light line in the positive window so I had my blood drawn today at the hospital and was told that the test is border line and I have to test again on Tuesday. What could this mean!? Is it a good chance that it is a positive or does it mean that it's more than likely a negative? It is so hard to have to wait! Has anyone gotten a borderline test result before! Thank you so much for your time, Jenn
I want to thank every one that wrote me. You guys are great and your advice helped me out a lot!! So it turns out that I am pregnant!! I guess this is a little premature because I haven't went back to have another blood test done but, I took three test this weekend and all where positive and I missed my period! Thanks again! Have a great day and God bless

Although I have not ever had a borderline blood draw before before i found out i was pregnant with my thrid i took a home prego test on a wednesday i wasnt late yet either and i thought i saw a faint red line too. My husband though wasnt convinced he said that if it were it would be bright red. so i waited until that sunday morning when i really thought something could be up and i for sure thought i was he though ti was nuts to take another one. but sure enough not even three mintues later the line was as red as it could be! we werent looking to get pregnant my because our second son just turned one in jan. but hey!! we were all for another one i guess!! anyways i hope this clams some of your anxious'ness !! good luck and i hope things turn your way!!!
The way is was explained to me when something similar happened was that fertilization almost definitely occured but the test was done before the embryo would have had an opportunity to fully attach to the uterine wall. I guess when this happens, the menstrual cycle begins and the pregnancy is lost. Since reportedly about 1/3 of conceptions don't "take," I had to go back in for another test to make certain I was still pregnant because they don't like say "yes you are preggo" only to have to report that you've lost the pregnancy immediately after. (I was still pregnant.)
HI J.-
It could mean either. I went thru invitro for my child, and the doctors earliest results can be taken at 10 to 14days from conception. The hormone levels get strong when you are pregnant, so that is why they will retest.
I know how stressful that is. I went thru years of monthly pregnancy test. Hang in there and you will know soon enough.
congrats! my first test was borderline too I waited two weeks and blamo! it was positive. I wish you a healthy and fit pregnancy!
Not to get your hopes up but all three of mine were positive with a home test days before my cycle was due to start! On my first, my husband was gone for 2 weeks, I was in the field (Army) for the entire two weeks and the lab tech said it was negative, 2 minutes later she came running after me saying it was very faint but positive. With a blood test it is supposed to be very sensitive but sometimes it's too close for them to give an accurate reading. So...it could be like my actual third, I lost the baby before I even knew I was pregnant, my prayers are that this is not the case. Just try to be patient and if you really are too anxious, take another home test this weekend. It will be more obvious, all three of my actual babies I took about 4 tests at home to confirm! Best of luck and we will be praying for y'all!
