We are pregnant with #2 and are waiting to tell extended family and friends until December...I will be right at 3 months then. I would love some cute ideas on how to tell everyone. We won't be seeing aunts, uncles and cousins this year...we will at Thanksgiving, but it's getting to be way too many people! So, I would like to send out Christmas cards...but what should be on them. I have a couple of ideas, but you ladies always seem to have a ton more!

What are some cute card ideas I can send out? Cute poems?

Thanks mamas!!!

What can I do next?

Be ready to pick a name and where you put who the card is from , include the baby's name.

So, perhaps one of those cards where you can create characters for each family member, include one extra baby.

That is so cool! Congrats.

ps - I still remember telling my brother in law I couldn't take his class anymore because I needed rest and he was so confused. So, I finally explained that I was falling asleep and couldn't keep up because my baby was taking all of my energy. He screamed & ran to go get my sister.

I found out I was pregnant the week of Christmas.. I went and purchased a plain Christmas Stocking and hung it up when no one was looking at my moms home.. Then when we all went to open gifts someone noticed the plain stocking. I explained it was for a new guest that would be here for Christmas next year.. They all asked Who? I told them "I am not sure yet, but sometime in August we will know if it is a boy or a girl." We had been married 10 years, so everybody was so excited.. actually our daughter ended up being born in July. . .

At the inlaws, I let my husband tell his family over dinner when we were saying what we were grateful for..

The first thing MIL asked, "was this planned? " Yes, I know, it never got better..

I would get the Christmas card that showed Mary pregnant riding on the donkey....

My daughter was born at the end of Oct. and not all of the family had heard. That year our Christmas card was of a snowy field with the North Star that said 'Unto Us a Child Is Born'. I thought it was perfect.

You know what might be kind of cool is to put an early ultrasound photo of the baby onto the Christmas cards or if you doo family photo cards, have someone hold up the ultraound photo so it can be seen well. Or, you can have that photo in the Christmas cards and say something like....Here's a sneak-peek at our newest little Christmas Elf due to arrive on XX-XX-2011. If I got something like that in the mail for Christmas, I would think it was really great! Just a thought....can't wait to see what the other moms come up with and what you eventually decide to do. Let us know!

You could do photo cards and have your son/daughter wear a shirt that says big brother/sister. My friend did this with her family, but had them over for dinner while her son was wearing the I'm a big brother. It was very cute!

I announced i was pg with my first at christmas time. I just bought cheap bibs from like the dollar store and wrote # 1 aunt, or # 1 great-grandma, etc on each of them and put them in a bag and had everyone open them at the same time. It was cute, cheap and everyone got the news at the same time. Good luck and congrats!!

My cousin did this last year. She had her son wear a cute t-shirt that said Big Brother To-Be and had a couple up close pictures of him and a family photo on the xmas card. Very cute. I loved the idea when I got the news in the mail :)

I once got a Christmas card that had an ultrasound picture with a santa hat photoshopped on the dot in the picture. I am not sure if you got one already or not, but it was pretty cute. Not sure how to include the other child in on this...

I would just sign the cards with each name and than but baby last name as the last name on the list, with a due date. Congratulations!
