I have a question, and I know most of you aren't doctors, but wondering if anyone has experienced this. I am a dancer, and am often going up on my toes, well about a year ago I did just that went up on my toes and a pain shot through my leg, really concentrated at the top of my foot, right by the bend. I thought that was weird becuase I wasn't doing anything abnormal or overexcerting, well I rested it a week or so and the next time I tried it again the same pain. Well when I walk and everything else it is fine, but everytime I dance or do any type of sport, or drive a stick shift even,I now have to wear a brace. with the brace it is just fine, no problems at all. Its been quite a while like this.(definatly should have gone in earlier I know) So I am getting a doctor appointment becuase it is not been getting any better at all. Has anybody had a problem like this? I've heard it could be tendenitious???

What can I do next?

Yes, it could be a stress fracture. that happened to me, but the pain became so bad I couldn't even walk.... so if that is what is going on it is probably mild and wearing a boot for a short while would allow it to heal.

If it is tendonitis I can tell you my husband had it and it was really defeating him. Then I began my own wellness business and put him on a vitamin program. He felt better in many ways, but the one that surprised us was that his tendonitis was helped. He used to have several bouts of it a year that lasted several days each. It was ruining his exercise program as he had to stop exercising as advised by the doctor with each bout, but since on the vitamins maybe two short bouts in 2 years. It's amazing what nutrition can do! If you decide you would like more info on what he takes just let me know.

In the meantime see a podiatrist.

Could it be a stress fracture? That might explain it happeneing at a fairly "ordinary time." My mom got a stress fracture--she is an avid walker and wasn't doing anything exerting/out of the norm.

If it's not a stress fracture, I would see a chiropractor or physical therapist.

I would recommend going to a chiropractor or physical therapist rather than an M.D. I have leg issues from running, and a chiropractor really does wonders. Good luck.
