Am I Pregnant? - Lexington,KY

I was writing because I'm having some strange things going on with my body the past 2 weeks. About 6 weeks ago I stopped my birth control because this fall my husband and I were going to start trying for another baby. I had bought a basal thermometer to start monitoring my body for the next few months prior to trying to get pregnant again. I am now a week late on my period. I have had period like cramps for the past 2 weeks, but no period. I am also having a white discharge a little more than I normally have. But I don't feel any different. My past 2 pregnancy's have been somewhat similar, I really didn't have any symptoms other than my period never came, also with my other two I did have spotting, which as of now I haven't! My husband and I have not necessarily been trying but it could have happened, maybe from his pre-ejaculation. Could I be pregnant? We were wanting to wait a few months being as my youngest turns 1 in a month and we wanted our children all around 2 years apart from each other. Any advice helps or what anyone think it could be, I am going to take a pregnancy test, but am confused on what is going on!

What can I do next?

Hi G.!
As you already know, the only way to know for sure is to take a home pregnancy test. They are inexpensive and very accurate these days. I will share with you that when we decided to try for our second child we thought it would take a while to get pregnant (because it did with our first). After I stopped taking my BCP's I never had another period...and guess what...I was pregnant! It was sooner than we planned, but she has been an amazing blessing in my life. Good luck!

You may be pregnant, or you may be adjusting to coming off of birth control. You'll know either way as soon as you take the test. Good luck!

Hi. I am excited to find out if you are pregnant. My kids are 1 year & 5 days apart. We didn't plan them to be so close, but it just happened. It was a little hard at first adjusting to having such young kids. Now that my little girl is 5 months old, I find it so much easier. I know boy & girl will be best buddies being so close in age. Good luck !

You very well could be pregnant, but to be sure go buy yourself a test. You don't need to buy the expensive ones, the Target $3 single test is just as accurate. BUT...you never know your body could still be adjusting to the switch from being on hormones to being off. Some people get pregnant right away after being off the pill. If you're having more mucus than normal, that is usually a good sign that you're pregnant. Congratulations if you are. Don't stress over if they are close in age, mine are 15 months apart and things are just fine, you'll manage.
