Hi everyone,

I am wondering how my (just turned) 2 year old is doing developmentally with counting and alphabet but we dont have any other 2 year olds around to compare with.

She can count to 20 although occasionally gets confused at 17 and knows most the alphabet (sing along).

Any experienced Moms out there tell me if this is on par or point me to a good website about it?

Thanks all in advance.

F.

I would recommend looking at Parents.com and also Fisher Price since they will show you the age appropriate toys and you can gauge from there where he should be

good luck!

Hi F.- I have a son that will be 2 at the end of the month and he can do the same. He still messes up his ABC's a little but I'm not too worried. His speech is great and is talking in full sentences now so I am guessing that he will eventually get the whole ABC thing down soon.

The county offers a free diagnostic test for children 0-5 years. I believe that the school board would be able to direct you. This is an assessment that will let you know where your child is developmentally. ###-###-#### is HCS downtown office. Call and see if they can direct you to the appropriate office.

From one mom to another, she's doing just fine!! Keep doing what you're doing...singing, playing, having fun...she'll be a genius before you know it!! :-)
