i dont think alli is the way, it might help a little bit but it will give you oily orange anal seepage. My best friend was on it, saw no improvement, and had that happening. Not worth it.
I know there is no quick fix to weight issues but I need some help. Has anyone tried this and has had a good experience? I am watching what I'm eating and being as active as I can be but I need a boost. I'm over 35 so things have slowed down a bit. This weight gain is making me miserable and I'm ready to make some changes. Seeing the bathing suits out at Target shocked me!!!
Not gonna try it...thanks moms for all the helpful hints. I really don't wanna crap my pants. My cousin just rejoined WW so I think I might give that a try. I did it once and I did lose weight but was hungry but I heard the added points. Thanks for all the encouragement. My weight has been a real battle for me and for a long time I did better and stayed thin but I lost steam and self confidence but I think I'm ready for my comeback. This is not the weight or the postion I want to be in and it is not the example I want to set for my daughter. Thanks again

I have not done it ... A radio host that I liked listening to did it and shared his experience on the air with his listeners ... it was a HORRIBLE experience on his end. He said the anal leakage was a HUGE issue. He had to go to commercial frequently due to this issue (tons of bathroom runs). He ate right according to him but if he had something that had the slightest tinge of fat in it he had to go to the restroom with in 20 min of eating it and constantly felt hungry. I am sure with others it is different but his experience turned me off of it.
Yep, I heard the same stories about pooping your pants, so I nixed Alli pretty quickly when I had the same struggle.
What worked for me was Weight Watchers. I'm 40 and found I just couldn't eat and exercise the way I did in my 20s. It was a real eye-opener because what worked in the past just didn't apply anymore with a super-slow metabolism. Weight Watchers kicked things into gear for me and I lost the 20 lbs. that just wouldn't budge otherwise. I've maintained the weight loss since last fall, no problem.
My friend is taking Alli....She claims it works but I have'nt seen any results in her losing weight? (Of course I did'nt tell her that!)
My sister used Alli at one point to and she also had the issue where she was'nt able to control her #2's! And when she would go to the bathroom it would like she took olive oil and just dumped it in the toilette! Scary! Then she would also get really bad stomach pain's from it too! I say just as long as your watching what you eat and that you eat in moderation and excersize then you should be fine!
I did it last year. It says it will help you loose an extra 10% so if you loose 10lbs with Alli you will lose an extra pound (whoopie)
I did it for a month...didnt loose anything. In fact one night I ate too much grease and had an accident in my pants at work..3 times...it was horrible being at work and having that in my kahki pants..
I would save your money and try something else...cabbage soup diet worked for 2 or 3 pounds in one week..
Right now I am looking into the 17 day diet to loose that extra 10lbs.
Good luck.
I just posted the same ? earlier this week and the consenus was DON'T DO IT, unless you want to poop your pants.
Got me doing some investigating though-there is one pill out there AVERSIL that seems to have the best reviews-but it's $$$ and I don't want to spend 90 bucks on a 'might work".
I'm in the same boat-almost 39 and stuff is hanging around where it shouldn't be and I need a jump start.
Go with your cousin to WW if you can..Keep eachother accountable..It helps to get support and encourage one another...I am back at WW myself and have made progress.. Good for you and Good luck.
I've heard alli is good for beginning to lose a few lbs, but it doesn't stick and not for longterm. My mom did it and didn't notice much change. You really need to follow the diet guidelines very strictly for it to work.
I would suggest maybe going to a gym, even if it's the YMCA, two to three times a week. Do 30-45 mins on an elliptical and 30-45 on the weight machines. If finances are an issue, you may be able to qualify for lower rates. Really, the Y is about the same amount of money a month as Alli is.
Weight lifting actually burns more calories than cardio and it tones and shapes your body and helps you lose weight faster.
Cutting out processed foods and carbonated beverages are a good start. For salty snacks, we eat rice cakes, pretzels, peanuts, butter free/low salt popcorn... for example, chips and salsa is better than fritos and bean dip. For sweets, I bake cookies and such instead of buy, but I cut sugars down. We try and eat lots of fruit/veggies, no fried foods. Watch portion sizes and substitute things like sour cream with plain yogurt. There are lots of way to eat more healthy and still have good food.
Here's are two easy good home workouts you can do:

I don't know about Alli, but here is what I did to lose weight (being over 40) with 2 small children and working full time. I'm down 45 pounds from my highest before delivery weight.
I gave my self permission to take a time to lose weight. I didn't gain it overnight, I wasn't going to lose it overnight.
I just felt like I didn't have time. Through flylady (www.flylady.net) I joined the free portion of the No Excuses Workout. I had already started eating healthier, so this was for me to start getting some exercise in. He has a group you could join for free, but there were also paid things you can do. Here are the basics:
1 start with 10 minutes. I could do that. I even found videoes a the library that were 5 10 minute routines. I built from 10 - 20 minutes to sometimes 30 minutes. The idea is "no excuses".
Alternate cardio with strength training. It really does help. M, W and F were cardio days, T and Th strength days. Weekends "free".
His other point is interval training burns more calories. Warm up 3 minutes, push hard for 3 minutes, take it "easy" for 1 minute, repeat 4 - 5 times, then cool down. When weather was good, I did this as jogging/walking.
I got videos from the library and invested in 3 sets of hand weights. I started at night when I could count on sleeping schedules, but now I work out in the morning. My husband is supportive (I'm cranky when I don't work out).
Here's the other thing I did to lose my last 10 pounds. I joined www.sparkpeople.com. It's free. It's motivational. It's a full web site. You tell it your goals, and it helps you get there. Track your exercise. Track your food. You see the calories in and out and it's easy to see what's happening. The final thing I had to do was TRACK CALORIES. I resisted it for the longest time. But once I started measuring my food, Wow, know I know why the weight is staying on.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroid 4 years ago. Now that my thyroid is in check, it was easier to lose weight.
You could also read Mastering Your Metabolism by one of the Biggest Loser coaches. That made my stop drinking pop completely and focus on more natural foods. That helped too.
I did this all as baby steps. It's been a journey for 20 months now (started when my youngest was 6 months). My diet is about what food I put into my body, not restricting my body from certain foods, and portion control (I fight with that one all the time). I'm 42. I'm strong. I feel fabulous. I can keep up with my kids. I can lift my 70 pound daughter. It's awesome. It just didn't happen overnight.
Good luck! You can do it - set your mind to it and go!

www.caloriecount.com is working for me. I eat whatever I usually do (tho Ive seriously cut down pasta, bread & rice) and I eliminated added sugar, the hardest thing for me. I made a journal of what I do enjoy eating- everything, and looked at portions. I measure by cup, I dont have a scale & dont want one! for instance rice has about 222 calories /cup, so I eat 1/2 a cup, and from the small measuring cup I plop it on my plate- it actually looks kind of fancy this little mound LOL hubby wanted his served the same way. I set a goal weight & date to reach it & this website tells you how much to eat to achieve the goal. Im allowed 1700 cal, which is alot. (still breastfeeding tho, so I have an extra 500 i think, if I wasnt I'd aim for 1200) By keeping the journal, (the site has it and much more built in, for free) I learned where all the excess calories were.. (in my coffee loaded with sugar and cream!) Ive only lost 10lbs in almost 2 months, but I dont exercise, nor do I follow the "diet" religously. no special foods, pills, just eat less of the "bad" foods. Im 36, 5'8, started this at 211 lbs, after 3 kids. I think its the best way, and the more you follow what your body needs, the more you lose. I do take vitamin C which helps weight loss, and metamucil tabs, they have a lot of fiber. Also, having a buddy to keep you on track, or even just sharing your losses with friends & family... helps. I post away on FB, most of my (very few) friends and family are also dieting, so we encourage & share ideas. Good luck, feel free to pm if you need that buddy to high 5 your achievements or want more ideas. OH! there is that miracle noodle, too, no calories... shiratake noodles i think, they look like reg pasta, and can be bought in asian stores. they're made from yams or soybeans, depends which you buy.
this didn't work for me because I dont' overeat with fatty foods, I overeat with sugary foods. So I could eat 1000 calories of sugar and Alli didn't care.
If you do eat lots of fatty foods it should work, as long as you don't just substitute non fatty foods of high calories instead.
There is no quick fix, as you know..and many pills are very dangerous. I am an Herbalife distributor, and my friend has been taking the weight loss program and has been very successful. It is healthy and good for you. You can substitute the shakes for 2 meals, have a 3rd meal of good colorful vegetables, fruits, a little meat, salad...whatever and he was losing about a pound every day or so. If you want to contact me, you can at ____@____.com It tastes fine and I use it myself for the vitamins, etc even though I don't need to lose weight. Many good products.
Hi Hisbiscus D. Before trying any of these diet pills consult your doctor first. Some of this pill can be dangerous.
