Is Alli as Bad as I've Heard?

Hello,

I know it's not the healthiest way to lose weight, but is Alli as 'bad' as I've read and heard? From what I understand you need to follow a STRICT fat intake diet for the most part.

Any feedback from Alli users would be great.

What can I do next?

If you are serious about losing the weight, you will have to follow a strict diet. My husband is a personal trainer in the Navy so I get a lot of my health wisdom from him. If you want to lose the weight you have to move more and eat less. It works everytime!

I actually really liked the Alli program. I only needed to lose ten pounds and I did it. I was on it for two weeks. The reason that it worked for me was that I knew I would have bathroom problems if I didn't adhere to the strict diet. For two days before I started taking it, I adjusted my diet. This kept me from experiencing problems in the bathroom that most people experience when they start taking it. I was never hungry. It was all about finding the right foods to eat. The other thing that helped me was using an online food diary, mycaloriecounter.com. It is free for the basic service and tells you what is in everything you eat. While I only used the alli for two weeks, I adhered to the new diet for two more weeks just because I was used to it and feeling so good. (Not to mention looking better!) What really blew my mind though was how unhappy I was with my figure for so long and all it took was a month of getting serious. Oh, and yeah, I worked out but only walking the baby in the stroller and twice a week of pilates for twenty minutes each. I guess everyone ids different as far as what works for them. And while I didn't like using a supplement, I was feeling pretty discouraged at the time. Good luck to you!

Personally, I would never use chemicals to lose weight. To me, there's no such thing as a "Diet" I had to lose 25 pounds and I did it just by changing my eating habits and portion control. I have maintained the weight loss now for more than 2 years. I haven't gained this 25 pounds back.

My mom tried it and said that she returned it to Walgreens. The diarrea was HORRIBLE. She said when she returned it to them, they said that they have had a lot of returns for the same reason.

I lost all of my babyweight too on Weight Watchers (well, I still technically have 4 more to go). Quite honestly, I would maybe go back to the strict WW program and up your exercise. It'll be the healthier way to take it off. If you need something quick, I would actually do something like atkin's or slim fast then indigest a pill personally. But whatever your decision, good luck!!!!

Well, I'm not sure if it's bad, but I don't think it's for someone who only needs to loose 10lbs. The strict fat intake diet is right, if you over do it it will make you body get rid of it. My mother is on it and she would describe it as a deterant device. If eat the fatty foods, be prepared to stick close to the restroom.

I'm always skeptical of any kind of weight loss supplement. I had a friend that became severly addicted to those things. She wound up in the hospital and had to go to rehab. I truly believe portion control and exercise are the best ways to lose weight. When you start on things like that you have to keep taking them, or you'll gain the weight right back. If you want to put your money into something, I would invest in Weight Watchers. They have a great system where you count points. You learn to eat better and in smaller portions. I've never used Alli, so I can't comment on that specific pill.

I used it for a month and lost nothing. I also worked out 3-4 times a week. The bathroom problems were not as bad as most people say - but bad eating habits are not my problem. I also have a border line thyroid problem - which my doctor won't give me any medicane for. I continue to be healthy and workout - even though I do not see the results. It is very depressing - hope you find somthing that works for you.

I just started it about 1 week ago. I don't think i lost any weight yet, but i was also out of town so i wasn't eating very healthy! i have not experienced any bad "bathroom" problems yet. If you do buy it, costco is much cheaper than elsewhere.

If you overconsume fat, then you'll likely have runny, greasy diarrhea while taking Alli.

It seems as if you were wanting to adopt a healthy and nutritious lifestyle, you'd eliminate or reduce the amount of fat you'd normally consume. Why not just cut down on the fat without taking the diet pill? You'd probably get the same or similar results.

I have a friend that takes it, and it is working for him. However, he said the first 2 days you really need to stick close to a bathroom, and you really have to watch your fat intake. He said if you overdo it on the fat.....you will definetly suffer. Apparently gives you pretty bad diarrea until your body becomes used to it and you get your diet working properly. Other than the getting started, he said it's not bad. Good Luck if you try it.
