My 10 month old has been diagnosed with allergies that include egg whites, dairy, wheat, soy, and peanuts. I'm in the process of searching for a pediatric nutritionist. Until then his dr and I have put him on rice milk but I have read people give rice milk with other ingredients. Is anyone aware of this?
Thank you!

Someone recommended coconut milk -- but beware since he has peanut allergies too -- there is some correlation between the two (my daughter is milk, egg, peaut and fish allergic, diagnosed at 12 mos). Unfortunately because your kiddo is soy allergic too, a lot of the things we use wouldn't work for him -- but my daughter has been on Rice Milk since 12 mos old and I will tell you, she is not underweight or malnourished (though she is petite, due to genetics) -- I give her healthy whole foods and she gets her fats from avocados and olive oil mostly. We buy Rice Dream Organic Original Flavor by the CASE at Costco -- it is cheaper than the grocery store. Best wishes to you mama -- I know how hard it is and with soy and wheat too, it will be even harder :(

Good luck to you. My 4 year old son had all those allergies plus all nuts and wheat, some fruits, grape flavoring and some fabrics. My 15 month old is also allergic to corn, soy constipated him so he couldnt handle soy so we used Rice Dream milk. If your baby does not like the taste, you can buy sugar free milk flavoring packets at the Grocery store that come in vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. They taste great. Just make sure your baby is not allergic to those ingredients. My kids love the taste, they are good and inexpensive. For other ideas, if you have a Whole Foods Market, they have allergy specific shopping lists that you can ask for at the counter that will give you some ideas.

If you're concerned about "hidden" ingredients, you can call the company and ask them. My kids had a ton of food allergies and had them cleared through needless acupuncture but I dealt with their allergies for 16 years. Not all of them cleared but the non-grains did. =) I use rice milk for my kids even though their dairy allergy did clear. Our whole family uses rice milk. We get rice dream with added calcium and B vitamins.
